MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Trade
deadline passes with one big deal and another solid one, but not much
else and we are moving headlong into the playoff races now. New Orleans
just keeps on winning, 10-0 so far and hard to see who has the firepower
to stop them. New England, Jacksonville, NY Giants and Carolina all look
good to join the Saints in the playoffs then everyone else is .500 or
below and fighting for the final 2 playoff spots. In the AFC things are
a lot tougher with 8 teams who have 6 or more wins and any of them could
still be the top seed in the conference (and two more teams at .500 as
well). Some big matchups that could either open things up or just make
it all tighter. We also added a new owner this week as Rudy Gobin takes
over as the owner in Seattle and he can be found at
r.gobin@rogers.com and will be
playing games the rest of the season. Good luck to all as we have a few
weeks til the bye week and then the final 3 weeks look like they may be
a bit crazy, especially in the AFC.
Please make sure to get started on game contacts asap and don’t forget
to CC me on all of them so I can make sure games are getting set up
smoothly. Let’s see if we
can hit the first week deadline with all games played head to head and
as always if you need help let us know.
If you need a sub, feel free to find your own sub or contact me
asap so we can try and get you hooked up with someone to get your game
in. Make sure you have the
latest action update which is available on the website.
Game files are up for the start of the regular season, so make
sure you go download them and start making contact for week 11 games. If
you have any questions, now is the time, so please ask before we get too
far into things.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In the AFC, LA Chargers fall to San Francisco and Tennessee has a tough
one in Carolina but still sit 2 games clear in the West. LA Rams beat
Chicago and Pittsburgh keeps pace with a win over Indianapolis. Denver
doubles up the NY Jets and Buffalo wins big at Atlanta to stay within a
game of the East lead. Cleveland just gets by Green Bay to get a leg up
on the final wild card and Dallas just gets by Seattle to sit tied for 6th
in the conference. Minnesota takes a tough loss versus the NY Giants.
In the NFC, New Orleans wins big over Tampa to go to 10-0 and Carolina
gets by Tennessee to stay 2 games back in the West. New England just
about wraps up the Central with a win over Houston while Kansas City
falls to Jacksville and the Pats have a 4 ½ game lead with 7 to play. NY
Giants stay even with the Jags with a win over Minnesota and Atlanta
falls to Buffalo. Arizona beats up on Detroit and Seattle just can’t
quite get the win over Dallas. Philadelphia gets their second win over
Tampa Bay.
Coming up in the AFC, LA Rams have the game of the week in New Orleans
and Pittsburgh heads to Tampa Bay hoping to get into a tie at the top of
the division. LA Chargers host Chicago and Tennessee gets a visit from
Minnesota in the fight at the top of the West. Denver has Buffalo in
town and can either build a 2+ game lead or we could be tied up at the
top of the East. San Francisco hosts Green Bay as they try to stay in
the final wild card spot and Dallas heads to the NY Giants trying to do
the same. Indianapolis heads to Philadelphia and Cleveland visits NY
Jets trying to stay alive in the race for the final wild card.
Coming up in the NFC, New Orleans has the biggest game with LA Rams in
town and Carolina hopes for an upset and a win over Arizona to get
within a game of the lead. New England hosts winless Miami while Kansas
City has to get a win over Houston for both teams seasons could be done.
NY Giants hosts Dallas and Jacksonville are in Atlanta as they continue
to fight for the top stop in the East. Seattle and Detroit will fight to
stay out of the basement in the East and Tampa Bay gets a visit from
Pittsburgh. Philadelphia hosts Indianapolis to close things out for the
week.
