MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Well,
let’s get the obvious out of the way as Denver and NY Giants both win
yet again and who knows if that will ever end. So on to the more
important stuff, the trade deadline is just 2 weeks away with little
time left to make deals, so it’s time to make that call and either go
for it or make some moves. Remember, I need confirmation of any deals
from both teams and prefer you don’t wait til right up against the
deadline on Monday night as it will likely annoy me to have to redo the
files :O) Once we get past the trading, then we’ll start to seriously
talk about the playoff races with a lot of teams still hanging around in
the AFC with only 1 team really out of it at this point. The NFC is a
bit more spread out with 9 teams fighting it out for 7 playoff spots and
5 teams looking like they all might be sellers. Good luck in this weeks
game and with any moves you make and let’s keep up the contacts, this
was a great week and I hope we can continue this through the rest of the
season.
Please make sure to get started on game contacts asap and don’t forget
to CC me on all of them so I can make sure games are getting set up
smoothly. If you need a sub, feel free to find your own sub or contact
me asap so we can try and get you hooked up with someone to get your
game in. Make sure you have
the latest action update which is available on the website.
Game files are up for Week 9, so make sure you go download them
and start making contact for week 9 games. If you have any questions,
now is the time, so please ask before we get too far into things.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In the AFC Denver again finds a way to win, putting down Jacksonville to
move to 8-0 and LA Chargers beat Indianapolis to stay 2 games back at
the top of the conference. Buffalo beats Green Bay in a defensive
struggle and Cleveland downs Dallas in more of a shootout. Pittsburgh
falls to Chicago and the Central tightens up to 1 game difference and
Tennessee beats San Francisco to stay a game back out West. NY Jets
double up Detroit to keep within the playoff hunt and Minnesota loses a
tight one to New Orleans. LA Rams get shut out by New England but are
still hanging around the wild card.
In the NFC NY Giants win a close one over Seattle and are up 3 ½ games
in the division on the Hawks and Jacksonville falls to Denver in a close
one as well. Kansas City beats Tampa Bay to stay a game ahead in the
Central as New England shuts out the Rams. Carolina gets by a tough
Atlanta team to move to the top of the West as Arizona falls to
Philadelphia. Houston squeaks by Miami and New Orleans does the same
with Minnesota to stay in wild card positions. Detroit loses another
tough one to NY Jets and continue their fight for the lottery.
Coming up in the AFC Denver heads to division rival NY Jets and Buffalo
and Cleveland fight it out to be alone in second in the division. LA
Chargers face off with Tennessee Titans in a battle at the top of the
West as Minnesota and Dallas fight to stay in the playoff race.
Pittsburgh looks to get back on track with a visit from Indianapolis and
Chicago tries to keep pace as they head to Green Bay. LA Rams and San
Francisco also play for a leg up in the wild card race.
Coming up in the NFC NY Giants get their toughest test of the season
with New England coming to town and Seattle hopes to take advantage of
any stumble as they have Alanta in town. Kansas City and Houston fight
it out in the Central as the Texans try and tighten things up while New
Orleans travels to Philadelphia in the West. Arizona hosts Jacksonville
and Carolina heads to Tampa Bay as both teams try and stay on top out
West. Detroit and Miami meet in the futility bowl as they both fight to
stay out of the NFC basement.
