I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Final week of the season and just one spot left to work out in the NFC between Green Bay and LA Rams. The rest is just positioning as New England has clinched the bye in the AFC and everyone else is jockeying for their spots and who plays who.  I need everyone to please do your best to get games scheduled and played hth this week as many of the games have meaning in the final playoff seedings.

In the AFC New England has earned the bye in round 1 and look for the undefeated season.  Denver has locked up the #2 seed by virtue of their week 8 win over the LA Chargers who currently sit in the #3 slot. Indianapolis is the first wildcard team with a half game lead over Pittsburgh, Houston and San Francisco who are all tied at 11-4 but are in the playoffs and it is just a matter of who they will play in round 1.

In the NFC New Orleans holds the division record tiebreaker over Arizona for the West and for the conference lead.  Jacksonville is the #2 seed and Kansas City is the #3 seed, both with home games.  Arizona is #4 and would host Carolina at #5. Seattle sits in the six seed and Green Bay leads the LA Rams for the #7 seed but they play hth and the winner will get that spot.

I need each of you to keep an eye on your rosters and let me know if anyone who has an in game injury comes up inactive.  I checked all of the rosters, but any help I can get to avoid this problem would be helpful and there is a game update available on our website that everyone should get (see below). If you need a sub, please contact Jeff Shelton asap so he can try and get your hooked up with someone to get your game in.  Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on the website.  Game files are up for week 6, so make sure you go download them and start making contact for week 6 games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so please ask before we get too far into things.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/26/21 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC New England beats Atlanta and locks up the #1 seed while Denver downs the NY Jets to slot in at #2.  LA Chargers beat Chicago to stay on top of the West and San Francisco keeps pace with a win over Green Bay.  Indianapolis tops Pittsburgh in OT to move into the #4 seed and Houston beats Tampa Bay and is in the top 7 playoff spots.  Minnesota falls to Cleveland and Buffalo squeaks by Philly in OT.  Tennessee finishes on top of Dallas to stay out of the basement in the West.

In the NFC New Orleans tops Carolina and Arizona doubles up Miami to stay tied at the top of the West.  Jacksonville beats Detroit and Seattle downs NY Giants as both fight for playoff positioning.  Kansas City beats LA Rams and Green Bay falls to San Francisco as the Chiefs lock up the Central. Atlanta falls to New England and Philadelphia loses in OT to Buffalo.  Tampa Bay loses big to Houston and still have just 1 win on the season.

Coming up in the AFC New England finishes with Chicago looking for a season with no losses and Denver looks to tune up for their first round home game at Houston who needs the win for positioning. LA Chargers host Tennessee and lock up the West with a win while San Francisco try to beat Dallas and hope for an LA loss to steal the division. Indianapolis needs a win over Jacksonville to lock up #4 but Pittsburgh can steal the spot with a win over Buffalo and some help. NY Jets finish with a visit from Philadelphia and Cleveland travels to the NY Giants in a game about lottery positioning.  Minnesota heads to Arizona looking to spoil their shot at the West title.

Coming up in the NFC New Orleans finishes in Tampa Bay and wins the #1 see with a win while Arizona takes on Minnesota and hopes for a huge upset in Tampa.  Jacksonville has a tough game in Indianapolis as they look for a win and some help to move up from #2 and Kansas City hosts Miami as they are already locked into #3.  Carolina and Seattle battle it out for playoff position as the Panthers can’t move up but Seattle could fall if Green Bay wins over the LA Rams.  Detroit hosts Atlanta in a battle for lottery positioning and Philadelphia travels to the NY Jets.
