I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

I really need to ask everyone to start trying harder with the game contacts.  We need to try and be more flexible and if you can’t make a game happen, make sure you give the other team the go ahead to get a sub early in the week so we can avoid game sims which seem to be happening all too often this year. The trade deadline goes by with just a whimper as there is a small deal involving the 10-0 Patriots but nothing that will change the overall playoff field.  So now we move on to the playoff races with only 6 weeks of games left to play.  In the NFC we have 5 teams with at least 8 wins and Carolina sitting in the 6th seed with 7 and a two game lead over Green Bay with the rest looking like they may be done.  The AFC only got closer this past week with Pittsburgh and Tennesee losing and dropping back to the pack as Cleveland and Denver win and get into the race.  Will Miami or Minnesota break their winless streak first or could we have our first season ever with two teams without a win.

I am still looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is interested in the league, we need owners for Cleveland, Detroit and NY Jets and would like to fill these spots as soon as possible. Walt Sienzant is going to cover the games for Detroit for this coming season and Ed Minshull is going to cover the games for NY Jets for now as well.  Please try and be as flexible as possible when scheduling games with these two guys as they are playing twice as many games as the rest of us.  Also, right now Bill Robison of St. Louis is MIA, if anyone has any contact from him, please let me know asap.  For now, try and contact him for games but go ahead with a sub if you don’t hear anything within 24 hours.

Game files are located on the website for week 11.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/16/18 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

This week in the AFC New England just rolls along with an easy win over Chicago while Pittsburgh falls to Houston and basically concedes the division as they already have lost to the Pats twice.  Dallas gets a huge win over New Orleans in the West and Tennessee is upset by San Francisco and fall a game behind.  NY Jets beat Cleveland and with Houston’s win they keep pace at the top of the East.  Denver beats San Diego to get to .500 and within a game of the playoffs.  Indianapolis loses to Buffalo and Minnesota falls to Carolina as they continue to search for the elusive win.

This week in the NFC NY Giants move to the top of the conference alone with a win over Tampa Bay but Jacksonville tops Seattle to stay in tough at the top of the East.  Philadelphia wins a close one over Kansas City and New Orleans falls in a tough one to Dallas the there is a tie at the top of the West.  St. Louis keeps Miami winless and Green Bay beats Arizona to keep their slim division hopes alive.  Carolina beats Minnesota to stay in the final playoff slot and Atlanta is beaten by Detroit.

Coming up in the AFC New England heads to Kansas City and Pittsburgh’s road only gets tougher as they get a visit from Tennessee.  NY Jets host Seattle and Houston does the same with Cleveland as the East race continues to heat up.  Dallas gets San Diego and Denver heads to Indianapolis both looking to help their playoff positioning.  Chicago faces Miami and tries to not become their first win while Minnesota looks for win #1 from Arizona.  Buffalo travels to Atlanta and San Francisco is in Tampa Bay.

Coming up in the NFC NY Giants host Jacksonville and either the East could be decided or we could end up all tied up after this one.  Philadelphia travels to Detroit and New Orleans tries for a win over Carolina as the West race heats up.  St. Louis hosts Green Bay and can wrap up the Central with a win while Kansas City hosts the undefeated NE Patriots.  Seattle visits NY Jets and Arizona will try and keep Minnesota winless.  Tampa Bay hosts San Francisco and Atlanta gets a visit from Buffalo.
