I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Trade deadline passes with just a single minor deal, so it appears everyone is ready to roll with what they have for the final 6 weeks.  The playoff races actually look to be pretty interesting this year, with 11 teams alive in the AFC and 10 teams in the NFC with a chance to continue playing.  I will start with playoff race updates after week 12 as long as the races stay tight, so keep your eye out here for more of that information.  I am looking for potential owners right now and with Dallas open, I am talking to a potential owner but not sure if it is going to work out, so could use someone to step in right now possibly if you know of someone who might be interested in a team (and a decent one at that).  Game files are located on the website and are ready for week 11.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/5/17 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC San Francisco moves to the top of the West with a win over San Diego and Dallas stumbles against Tennessee as the division gets a bit tighter.  Houston downs Cleveland and NY Jets fall to St. Louis as the Texans stretch their lead in the East to two games.  Pittsburgh shuts down Buffalo but Indianapolis gets a huge win over New Orleans and the Central stays tied at the top.  New England stays in the playoff hunt with a win over Minnesota and Denver beats Chicago to get to .500 and keep their playoff hopes alive.

In the NFC Philadelphia gets back in the winning column at Tampa Bay while New Orleans stumbles against Indianapolis.  Carolina beats Miami and Seattle beats Detroit.  Jacksonville drops Green Bay and Atlanta keeps pace over Arizona.  St. Louis gets a big win over NY Jets to stay on top of the Central while Kansas City takes down the NY Giants.

Coming up in the AFC San Francisco hosts Minnesota and Dallas has San Diego in town in the battle at the top of the West.  Houston looks to extend their lead in the East but Tennessee wants to keep pace in the West while NY Jets host Miami and Cleveland heads to New England as they chase Houston.  Indianapolis hosts Chicago and Pittsburgh heads to Arizona as the battle at the top of the Central continues.  Denver has a tough task in Philadelphia and Buffalo tries to slow down St. Louis.  Overall 11 teams still within 2 games of the playoffs and no one really running away with it while Minnesota, San Diego and Buffalo could all be eliminated with losses this week.

Coming up in the NFC Philadelphia gets a visit from Denver and New Orleans heads to Tampa Bay while Carolina is off to Seattle with all three battling for the top of the West.  Jacksonville plays Detroit in in the East and Atlanta hosts NY Giants and the division could tighten up a bit or the Jags could take control.  St. Louis shuffles off to Buffalo while Kansas City is in Green Bay as both teams try to take control in the Central.  Miami travels to the NY Jets and Arizona hosts Pittsburgh as both teams try to keep slim playoff hopes alive.  10 teams still with real playoff chances at this point but here you have 3 teams who are at the top and then a bunch fighting to get the final few spots.  NY Giants and Green Bay could be eliminated with losses this week while Seattle and Miami need a lot of help or they will fall by the wayside as well.
