I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

The playoffs are here and some interesting matchups are on tap for the Wil Card round.  Rematches seem to be the order of the day as we have some divisional rivals facing off as they try and move on to round 2.  In the AFC we have Denver heading to Buffalo while New England hosts Tennessee in a battle of teams with 13 or more wins each.  In the NFC St. Louis hosts Kansas City and Detroit heads to Carolina for their first round matchups.  Game files are located on the website for the first round of the playoffs, please get the files and go ahead and get your games set up though there is plenty of time to get the games in as they are due Monday, January 9th at 10 pm eastern.

I am now accepting ballot props per the separate email I have sent out, feel free to discuss anything you would like over the list and then provide me with fully fleshed out proposals by Sunday, January 15th so I can do a preliminary ballot and we can try and have voting complete by the end of the playoffs. Remember as always, if you do not plan to return next season I would ask that you please refrain from the ballot discussion. Thanks.

Also accepting awards nominations now, please head over to the survey and help out if you have some time.  These are not mandatory (the final vote is though) but if you want to be a part of it, feel free to register your nominations - https://kwiksurveys.com/s/sifz2C22

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/08/16 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC not a lot of surprises as Indianapolis downs Buffalo to take the top spot in the conference while Dallas beats San Francisco to win the West and lock up the #2 seed.  Denver can’t takes advantage of the Buffalo loss as they fall badly to Seattle and the Bills get the East and the #3 seed and the Broncos earn another trip to Buffalo for a wild card game. New England beats Chicago to get the last wild card home game.  Tennessee finishes 13-3 with a victory at Minnesota and they are relegated to the #5 seed and a trip to New England.  Pittsburgh falls at Detroit and San Diego does the same at Tampa Bay as both stumble to the end of the season.  Cleveland wins over Houston and NY Jets just get by Arizona.

In the NFC New Orleans tops Jacksonville and are the #1 seed while Seattle crushed Denver and they get the other first round bye.  St. Louis beats Green Bay and Kansas City wins over Miami with the Rams getting the division title and #3 seed based on the better common opponent record.  Carolina just squeaks by Philadelphia and they have the other Wild Card home game.  Detroit beats Pittsburgh and lock up the final playoff slot and the #5 seed based on a head to head win over Kansas City who will get another shot at St. Louis in round 1.  NY Giants beat Atlanta who finish the season winless but the Giants just miss the playoffs and Arizona falls to the NY Jets.  Tampa Bay beats San Diego to earn their 7th win of the season.

Coming up in the AFC we have the Wild Card round of the playoffs with Indianapolis and Dallas earning first round byes.  Buffalo is the #3 seed as the winner of the East and will host Denver while New England is the other home game with Tennessee coming to town.

Coming up in the NFC the Wild Card round begins with New Orleans and Seattle earning first round byes.  St. Louis wins the #3 seed based upon a better common opponent record over Kansas City and the Chiefs get an immediate shot to show the standings wrong in the round 1 matchup.  Carolina is the #4 seed and will host Detroit who ended up tied with Kansas City but owned the tiebreaker based upon a week 2 win over the Chiefs.
