MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
The
playoffs can officially begin, good luck to the 12 teams who made the
post season and please be sure you give me info on when you games are
going to be played. Be sure if you have trouble hooking up that you get
a plan in place and contact me for a sub if needed.
There are updated files for the playoffs on the website main
page, please make sure you get those and get started as soon as you are
able to. Round 1 games are
due on Monday, January 12th at 10 pm eastern.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
The
AFC playoffs have some interesting teams, including a sub .500 club in
Cleveland and 3 teams from the AFC West.
San Diego had possibly the most dominant season in the AFC as
they work their way to the #1 seed and a bye in round 1 and should be
the team to beat to get to the Super Bowl.
Indianapolis is the #2 seed despite a half season injury to Aaron
Rodgers which did cost them the top spot, but they also earn a bye and
look like they will get a round 2 matchup that should test them.
Denver won the AFC East despite a couple of losses to Cleveland
and a less dominating season overall, but as the #3 seed they get one
more shot at the Browns in round 1 as Cleveland just snuck into the
playoffs in week 17. Dallas tried to hang with the Chargers but fell
just short and drop down to the #4 seed as the wildcard team with the
best record and that earns them a home game vs Tennessee who they split
with during the season, so this one is the rubber match to see who moves
on to round 2.
The
NFC playoffs is full of powerful teams as a 10-6 club got left home this
season and they are led by the 14-2 New Orleans Saints who rolled
through the season and get the top seed and a bye on the strength of a
hth win over Detroit. The
Lions were a very close second with a record equal of the Saints and
will be trouble for whoever survives to face them in round 2.
Kansas City won the Central division on the strength of a 5-1
division record and a pair of wins over Green Bay and they are the #3
seed and win the prize of facing a 10-6 Jacksonville squad who lost in
week 17 and will be looking to show the doubters that they did not back
in to the playoffs. The
other wild card game matchups up the 13-3 Philadelphia Eagles who stayed
neck and neck with New Orleans, but stumbled in week 17 with a big loss
to Detroit. They are now the
#4 seed and host the 11-5 Seattle Seahawks who had a huge offensive
season from Palmer and company and will try and run the Eagles out of
the stadium and hope their defense can do enough to hang on.
