I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

The regular season is complete and the playoffs are set.  Congratulations to the 12 teams in the playoffs, to the rest of you, thanks for a great season, but don’t disappear just yet as we have some discussion and voting to complete before the season is over and we take a break.  Look for more information on this by the end of the week.  Playoff info will come in a separate newsletter late in the week. Be sure if you have trouble hooking up that you get a plan in place and contact me for a sub if needed.  I have updated files on the website for the end of the season, go ahead and get those and take a look at the final stats and hold on to them for the voting that is soon to come.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/10/14 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, San Diego downs Carolina to wrap up the #1 seed in the AFC and Indianapolis beats New England.  Denver wins over NY Jets and Dallas beats Chicago. Tennessee takes down Minnesota and Cleveland gets the win against Houston to wrap up the final playoff slot.  Buffalo pulls the upset on Jacksonville and San Francisco beats Pittsburgh.

In the NFC, New Orleans beats Kansas City to end up in the #1 seed and Detroit beats Philadelphia to finish 2nd.  Seattle gets by Atlanta, knocking them from the playoffs and Jacksonville loses to Buffalo but still sneaks into the playoffs at #6.  Green Bay wins in Tampa Bay and St. Louis takes down Arizona.  Carolina loses in San Diego and Miami takes out the NY Giants.

The AFC playoff pictures has San Diego as the #1 seed and Indianapolis as the #2 seed, both getting a bye during Wildcard weekend.  Denver is the #3 seed and host Cleveland who earned the final slot and then Tennessee is #5 and visits Dallas who is the #4 seed.

The NFC has New Orleans as the #1 seed and Detroit as the #2 seed with both teams off the first week of the playoffs.  Kansas City is the #3 seed and hosts Jacksonville as the #6 seed who just snuck into the playoffs despite a week 17 upset loss.  Philadelphia is #4 and hosts Seattle who won the final game to move up to #5.

Playoffs will be covered more in depth in their own newsletter once those files are ready.
