I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 8 is complete and everyone finally has at least one win and one loss, so next thing on the list will be the trade deadline at the end of week 10, 2 weeks from today. Be sure if you have trouble hooking up that you get a plan in place and contact Dave Stewart for a sub if needed.  Thanks for the great work guys!  I have updated files on the website for week 9, go ahead and get those and start making your game contacts for the week, with home team making contact by Tuesday and the games hopefully being set up by Wednesday.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/10/14 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Indianapolis takes their first loss at the hands of Denver while Houston beats Cleveland to keep pace with the Broncos in the East.  San Diego beats Tennessee to put them 2 games back out West and Dallas gets a win over the NY Jets to stay within a game of the Chargers.  Buffalo loses a tight one to the NY Giants and Minnesota gets by New England.  San Francisco loses to New Orleans and the Chicago Bears shut down the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Central.

In the NFC, Philadelphia beats Tampa Bay and New Orleans wins over San Francisco for them to stay tied on top of the West.
Atlanta beats Detroit in the East to move to the top of the Division and Jacksonville falls to Seattle to move 2 games back.  NY Giants beat Buffalo to keep their playoff hopes alive.  Green Bay takes down St. Louis and Kansas City beats up on Miami to put both teams a game up in the Central.  Carolina stays at .500 with a win over Arizona.

Week 9 in the AFC Has San Diego hosting San Francisco and Dallas heading to Tennessee as the West continues to heat up with the three way race out there.  Denver heads to New England and Houston will try and keep in touch as they playoff Buffalo.  Indianapolis hosts Pittsburgh and NY Jets head to Cleveland.  Minnesota travels to Chicago with both teams actually still alive in the playoff race as 4-4 is the 6th playoff slot right now.

Week 9 in the NFC Philadelphia hosts New Orleans in the game of the week as both try and lay claim to the top spot in the West.  Atlanta  visits Green Bay and Detroit hosts Kansas City in a couple of cross over games on top of the East and Central divisions.  Jacksonville hosts Carolina and Seattle has the NY Giants coming to town as both teams try and stay alive in the playoff race.  St. Louis and Miami match up and Arizona and Tampa Bay do the same thing out West.
