MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
So,
we are hitting that point of the season where some teams know they have
no playoff chances left. I really need those teams to stick with it and
still play your games hth as it makes things tougher to keep going if we
are getting bad/no communication and having to find subs for three or
four games. Please, stay with it for another few weeks to get to the end
of the season and lets look for some big upsets along the way.
The
playoffs are shaping up with 4 games left in the season and the bye week
coming up soon. In the AFC, Indianapolis has a chance to clinch the
Central with a win and Pittsburgh loss, while Denver has a smaller
chance to do the same in the East if they can beat Cleveland and get a
NY Jets and Green Bay loss. LA Chargers are barely holding on to the
West with San Francisco close behind and Dallas still there too.
Pittsburgh is still the #4 seed but has a tough couple of games coming
up and NY Jets, Green Bay and San Francisco are all tied for the #5 thru
#7 seeds. Dallas is just outside looking in and Chicago and Tennessee
both need a ton of help before seeing their season end.
In
the NFC playoff race, New England can stay on top of the Central with a
win over Buffalo and could get close to the division title if Kansas
City struggles with Atlanta and Houston stumbles against Tampa Bay. NY
Giants would clinch the East with a win and Atlanta loss while Atlanta
could get closer with a win if the Giants have a problem with Dallas.
New Orleans is at Carolina and Arizona is at Philadelphia and while
neither can win the division this week, they could knock their opponents
out of any real playoff contention. Houston and Kansas City can stay in
the 4th and 5th seeds with wins and Arizona would
stay at #6 if they win as well. Atlanta would be the #7 seed even if
they lose but could bring some other teams back into play. Carolina,
Jacksonville, Detroit, and Philadelphia can’t afford losses this week
and need Atlanta to stumble to get back into it.
Please make sure to get started on game contacts asap and don’t forget
to CC me on all of them so I can make sure games are getting set up
smoothly. Let’s see if we
can hit the first week deadline with all games played head-to-head and
as always if you need help let us know.
If you need a sub, please contact Jeff Shelton asap so he can try
and get you hooked up with someone to get your game in.
Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on
the website. Updated game
files are up, so make sure you go download them and start making contact
for week 13 games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so please
ask before we get too far into things.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In the AFC Indianapolis continues to move on with a close win over
Cleveland and Pittsburgh falls to Green Bay, all but leaving the Central
to the Colts with 4 games left to play and a 3 game lead. Denver wins
big over Buffalo to keep a 2 game lead in the East as NY Jets tops
Dallas to keep pace along with the Packers. LA Chargers trail the West
by percentage points after a tough loss at Jacksonville and San
Francisco jumps ahead of the Cowboys with a win over Tennessee. Chicago
runs away from LA Rams and Minnesota falls to the NY Giants.
In the NFC New England takes down Seattle to hold a two games lead in
the Central while Houston downs Miami and Kansas City gets a late win
over Arizona. NY Giants crush the Vikings for a 3 game lead in the East
and Atlanta just gets by Detroit in a defensive struggle to stay in the
playoffs. New Orleans tops Philadelphia and moves into first with the
Cardinals loss while Carolina beats Tampa Bay to stay in the playoff
race. Jacksonville beats the LA Chargers and hold on to playoff hope.
Coming up in the AFC Indianapolis can clinch the Central with win over
NY Jets and a Pittsburgh loss to Chicago (and maybe even the
conference). Denver hosts Cleveland and with a win and NY Jets loss also
have a shot at clinching the division the East. LA Chargers try and get
back on top of the West with a visit from LA Rams and San Francisco
tries to move ahead with a win at Detroit. Green Bay heads to Miami
trying to hold on to the final playoff spot and Dallas is outside
looking in but have a big chance against NY Giants to stay in the fight.
Tennessee visits Minnesota while Buffalo has a tough trip to New England
looking for win #3.
Coming up in the NFC New England looks to keep their lead in the Central
with a visit from Buffalo and Houston hosts Tampa Bay while Kansas City
has a tough matchup with Atlanta with all three teams fighting for
playoff positioning. NY Giants travel to Dallas and look to possibly
lock up the East with some help from the Chiefs while Jacksonville tries
to keep their slim playoff hopes alive at Seattle. New Orleans heads to
Carolina for what is always a tough matchup while Arizona is in
Philadelphia, with both teams higher in the standings looking to put
these other teams away. Detroit hosts San Francisco with a very small
playoff chance left and Miami gets a visit from Green Bay.
