I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Four AFC playoff slots are clinched as Denver joins the party.  Still nothing official in the NFC as there are 8 teams fighting for the 6 spots up for grab. Be sure if you have trouble hooking up that you get a plan in place and contact me for a sub if needed.  This week is our bye week for Thanksgiving and we get back on track next week, so essentially we have 2 weeks to play week 15 games.  Thanks for the great work guys!  I have updated files on the website for week 15, go ahead and get those and start making your game contacts for the week, with home team making contact by Tuesday and the games hopefully being set up by Wednesday.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/10/14 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Indianapolis just gets by Pittsburgh as they stay at the top of the conference and Denver wins over Atlanta to clinch a playoff spot.  San Diego takes a big divisional win over Tennessee and Dallas falls to New Orleans in one of the biggest games of the week.  Cleveland beats Buffalo to stay in the final playoff spot and Houston takes down the NY Jets to keep their playoff chances alive.  New England falls to St. Louis and Chicago falls to Kansas City.  Minnesota beats San Francisco to keep slim playoff chances alive for both.

In the NFC, Philadelphia takes down Tampa Bay and New Orleans wins a tough one over Dallas.  Detroit wins over Jacksonville for a 2 game lead in the East after Atlanta falls to Denver.  Kansas City takes down Chicago and Green Bay squeaks by Miami to stay on top of the Central.  Seattle wins late over NY Giants to stay in the final playoff slot and St. Louis beats New England to try and stay in touch for their division lead.  Carolina beats Arizona to stay in touch with 6th place.

Week 15 in the AFC San Diego hosts Dallas as the two teams battle it out for the division title and Indianapolis will host Miami trying to keep pace at the top of the conference.  Denver heads to Minnesota and a win clinches the division while Cleveland tries to catch them when they visit Detroit.  Tennessee has New England in town as they try and lock up their playoff spot and Houston is in Jacksonville as they try and keep their playoff hopes alive.  Buffalo hosts NY Jets and San Francisco gets a visit from the Eagles.  Chicago and Pittsburgh battle it out for the bottom of the division.

Week 15 in the NFC Philadelphia and New Orleans are both on the road matching up with San Francisco and NY Giants respectively in their battle for the West.  Detroit hosts Cleveland and can clinch the division with a win and some help as Atlanta hosts St. Louis and Seattle is in Carolina with both 2 games back.  Kansas City and Green Bay go head to head with the winner taking the lead in the division race and Jacksonville tries to keep their playoff hopes alive with Houston coming to town.  Arizona and Tampa Bay match up trying to stay out of the basement in the conference and Miami is off to Indianapolis.

The playoff races are starting to really take shape and week 15 should define things even further. Indianapolis has won the Central and is tied with San Diego for the conference lead and top seed.  Dallas is a game back of San Diego but they match up and this could either make things tighter or close out the division for the Chargers depending on the winner.  Denver clinches the East with a win and likely the third seed.  Tennessee can clinch a playoff slot with a win and Houston loss while Cleveland could clinch in theory but needs a lot of things to fall their way.  Houston is alive a game back of 6th and technically Buffalo, NY Jets, Minnesota and San Francisco are alive for the playoffs 2 games back and even Pittsburgh, New England and Chicago haven’t been eliminated but that is just a matter of time.  Week 15 will sort a lot of this out and eliminate a bunch of teams very likely.

The NFC is a bigger mess, though less so for who can get in, but more for seeding.  Philly and New Orleans are in a dead heat in the West, first one to lose may be done for the division, while Detroit is also tied at the top of the conference and can win the division with a win and some help.  Kansas City and Green Bay match up on top of the Central with the winner having the inside trade to the division title and the loser fighting for 6th.  Atlanta and Seattle are tied for the 5th/6th slots which Jacksonville and the Central loser sitting a game back with a chance to get in.  Carolina and St. Louis are still alive, but a loss for either or wins by Seattle and Atlanta will eliminate them.  Miami, NY Giants, Arizona and Tampa Bay are all done for this season and playing out the string and trying to spoil someone elses fun.
