MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
The
bye week is here and we have just 3 weeks of games left to determine
most of the playoff positions and definitely who will be hosting playoff
games. Again, I have to stress, please contact your opponents and get
games set up early. Should be plenty of time for week 16 games as they
aren’t due for two weeks (and would appreciate if we can avoid leaving
them til that final Monday night). The playoff races are really good but
can get bogged down if we aren’t doing a good job of providing quality
opponents. As you can see by results this week, any team can be any
other, so no one is locked into much of anything just yet.
The
AFC playoffs are getting tighter as Indianapolis and Denver have locked
up playoff positions, but 8 teams fight for the final 5 playoff spots.
San Francisco sits in the 3rd seed by percentage points out
West and then NY Jets and Pittsburgh are tied for 4th. LA
Chargers sit in 5th right now and then Green Bay holds the 7th
seed by half a game over Dallas and a full game over Chiago and
Cleveland. Everyone else is essentially done and games this week could
decide a lot or just muddy the waters.
In
the NFC playoff race, NY Giants clinch the East with a win or Atlanta
loss, while New England can clinch the Central with a win over Houston
(or things could just get tighter). New Orleans holds a half game lead
over Arizona out West for the three seed and by a game over Carolina who
has clawed back into the fight. Houston is currently the 4
seed and Atlanta and Kansas City are tied for 5th. Arizona
has a half game lead for the 7th seed over Jacksonville and
Carolina with Philadelphia still alive at 7-7. Detroit is technically
still alive but would have to jump a lot of teams to make their playoff
case.
Please make sure to get started on game contacts asap and don’t forget
to CC me on all of them so I can make sure games are getting set up
smoothly. Let’s see if we
can hit the first week deadline with all games played head-to-head and
as always if you need help let us know.
If you need a sub, please contact Jeff Shelton asap so he can try
and get you hooked up with someone to get your game in.
Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on
the website. Updated game
files are up, so make sure you go download them and start making contact
for week 16 games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so please
ask before we get too far into things.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In the AFC Denver wins big over Cleveland to keep a two games lead in
the East as NY Jets upset Indianapolis and keep division hopes alive
while moving into the top wild card position. San Francisco just gets by
Detroit while LA Chargers Win over LA Rams and stay virtually tied with
the Niners. Chicago takes down Pittsburgh to keep the Steelers from
locking up a playoff spot and dropping them to 5th while
Dallas loses a tight one to NY Giants. Green Bay stumbles at Miami and
Buffalo loses a shoot out with New England. Minnesota moves into a tie
by beating Tennessee with both teams heading to the golf course soon.
In the NFC New England holds on to beat a scrappy Buffalo team, locking
up a playoff spot, and Houston wins easily over Tampa Bay. NY Giants
just get by Dallas in the East, but also lock up a playoff spot, and
Atlanta takes down Kansas City to stay in a playoff position. Arizona
falters against Philadelphia and New Orleans falls to Carolina who move
into a tie for 8th place. Jacksonville wins a tight one over
Seattle and Detroit falls to San Fransisco to essentially get eliminated
from playoff contention. Miami pulls off a huge upset over Green Bay for
their second win of the season.
Coming up in the AFC Indianapolis takes on division rival Pittsburgh and
can lock down the division with a win while Chicago hosts Green Bay in a
game of teams trying to hang on. Denver can clinch the East with a win
over LA Rams and if the NY Jets lose to Buffalo. San Francisco hosts
Seattle and LA Chargers get a visit from Tennessee as both teams try and
stay on top of the West. Cleveland hosts Miami, trying to keep slim
playoff hopes alive and Minnesota gets a visit from Detroit. Dallas
travels to Atlanta hoping to get back into a playoff position.
Coming up in the NFC NY Giants get a tough test from Kansas City but
clinch the division with a win or if Atlanta can’t hold off Dallas. New
England can win the division if they beat Houston or things could get
tighter while Jacksonville tries to hold on with a visit from
Philadelphia. Arizona hosts Carolina and New Orleans gets a visit from
Tampa as those three teams fight for the top spot in the West. Detroit
heads to Minnesota and Miami tries for another upset at Cleveland.
Seattle travels to San Francisco looking for an upset.
