I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

And we hit the by week (2 weeks to play games) with a bunch of playoff teams clinched already and more still to come.  In the AFC, Chicago, NY Jets and LA Chargers all have a playoff position clinched and have a chance to finish off their divisions this week while the Bears have the inside shot to the bye in round 1.  In the NFC, Houston, New England and New Orleans all have their tickets to the dance, but all 3 divisions are still up for grabs though a lot of big matchups this week that can make some changes there. Next week with more spots clinched, will start to clarify who can do what and who is definitely off to the golf course.

Please, do your best to be on time when you set you games and and don’t forget you should be CCing me each time. Also, you should be sending out a boxscore (which you have to save after the game) and a .xbx file for each game and a small write up would be nice as well for each game.  Don’t forget that if you need a sub for a game you should be emailing Jeff Shelton directly to set that up rather than going through the email list to avoid confusion on who is subbing. Week 14 files are ready to go on the website, please get them and get going on game contacts as soon as possible and make sure you are CCing me on those so I know what is going on.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 09/06/22 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC Chicago clinches a playoff spot with a win over Indianapolis and Pittsburgh stays two games back as they down NY Giants.  LA Chargers crush Minnesota and Tennessee gets by Dallas to stay two games back in the West.  NY Jets beat Buffalo while Denver ties Green Bay to stay alive in the East if just barely.  San Francisco beats Cleveland to stay within reach of the playoffs and LA Rams fall to Jacksonville but still have life in the wild card race.

In the NFC Houston wins big over an undermanned KC club and New England does the same with Miami to stay a game back.  New Orleans stops Carolina and stays a game up on Arizona who win a shoot out with Tampa Bay.  Jacksonville just squeaks by LA Rams while Detroit takes down Philadelphia and are within a game of the East.  Seattle wins big over Atlanta to stay a game back in the wild card and NY Giants fall to Pittsburgh.

Coming up in the AFC Chicago can clinch the Central with a win over Pittsburgh and Indianapolis can get back even with the Steelers if they can get by LA Rams.  NY Jets can clinch the East with a win over Green Bay and Denver can stay alive in the wild card if they can beat Cleveland.  LA Chargers host San Francisco and can clinch the West with a win and a loss by Tennessee who visits Buffalo.  Minnesota gets a tough visit from Houston while Dallas looks to stay in the hunt for #1 in the lottery with visit to Kansas City.

Coming up in the NFC Houston looks to hold on the Central with a visit to Minnesota and New England tries to keep pace with a tough matchup with Jacksonville.  Kansas City heads to Dallas hoping for some help to get back in the race in the Central and Detroit hosts Carolina hoping to catch the Jaguars.  New Orleans travels to Tampa Bay and Arizona visits from Miami with both still fighting for the West.  Atlanta looks for win #2 over Philadelphia and NY Giants get a visit from Seattle who fights for their playoff lives.
