I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Two weeks to the deadline, we’ll see if any of the contenders decide to make moves to get better or if teams heading to the golf course are ready to start moving some bodies. Please make sure any trades are confirmed by both teams before the weekly deadline and remember that all trades need to have equal players on both sides so as not to exceed the roster limits.

Everyone needs to do a better job of making game contacts and staying on top of this.  I am getting too many complaints about owners not responding to multiple emails and/or showing up late when games are set to be played.  There are 28 different owners in this league and it only takes one or two to slow it all down. Please, do your best to be on time when you set you games and and don’t forget you should be CCing me each time. Also, you should be sending out a boxscore (which you have to save after the game) and a .xbx file for each game and a small write up would be nice as well for each game.  Don’t forget that if you need a sub for a game you should be emailing Jeff Shelton directly to set that up rather than going through the email list to avoid confusion on who is subbing. Week 8 files are ready to go on the website, please get them and get going on game contacts as soon as possible and make sure you are CCing me on those so I know what is going on.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 09/06/22 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC Chicago keeps moving on to the top of the conference with a big win over LA Rams and Indianapolis pulls off the big upset over Tennessee. LA Chargers down Seattle to move within a game of the top of the West with the Titans loss and San Francisco is just two back with their win over Pittsburgh.  NY Jets crush the Packers to stay on top in the East and Denver beats Buffalo to move into second place.  Minnesota tops Miami to move up in the playoff race and Dallas gets their second win of the season over Cleveland.

In the NFC Kansas City downs Carolina and Houston falls to New England and all three teams are within 1 game of the top of the Central.  New Orleans just gets by Arizona to restore their two game lead in the West and Philadelphia just gets by Tampa to move out of the bottom of the division.  Jacksonville shuts out NY Giants and Seattle falls to LA Chargers to fall to second place in the East.  Detroit keeps Atlanta unbeaten and Miami falls to Minnesota but are just a game out of the playoffs.

Coming up in the AFC Chicago heads to Jacksonville for a tough road trip and Indianapolis hosts NY Giants hoping to cut into the bears lead in the Central.  Tennessee hosts the LA Chargers in a battle for the top of the West and Minnesota travels to Dallas hoping to make up some ground.  NY Jets and Denver will fight it out for the top of the East and Buffalo heads to Carolina as they try and stay in the playoff hunt. San Francisco heads to Houston to try and stay alive and Pittsburgh and Cleveland will battle out with the loser likely falling out of the race.  Green Bay hosts Philadelphia and LA Rams get a visit from Detroit.

Coming up in the NFC New Orleans and New England may be the game of the week and Arizona hosts Tampa Bay as they try and keep pace in the West. Houston hosts San Francisco and Kanas City visits Atlanta as they continue to battle for the Central.  Jacksonville gets a tough test with a visit from the Bears and Seattle heads South to Miami to take on the Dolphins.  Carolina hosts Buffalo and Detroit heads to LA Rams in a pair of Intra-conference games.  Philadelphia visits Green Bay and NY Giants look for win #3 in Indianapolis.
