MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Congratulations to Ed Minshull and the New Orleans Saints on their
second ISFL Super Bowl in the past 3 years.
The Saints are Super Bowl XXV champions and the game was the
classic we expected it to be as it went down to the end and took a
defensive stop from New Orleans to keep the Patriots from making the
comeback and taking the win in the final minutes of the game. Daniele
and the Patriots had a great season but just couldn’t quite finish the
undefeated year but I am sure they will be back for another shot at it
next year. Season is almost
over, so far no one has said they aren’t coming back, but if anyone
decides they don’t want to return, I would like to know sooner than
later. Also, please get your
ballot votes in asap and look for the draft lottery this weekend. Thanks
for a great season guys and we will be done next Sunday night!

Voting will be due on Sunday night by the end of the Super Bowl for
both, please get in on these and get them done (ballot is mandatory if
you are returning).
Lottery order is set and will be done before the Super Bowl Sunday
night. As usual I will need some help from a couple of people so we can
be sure to keep it on the up and up since Conner’s team is involved
again.

Please check your teams rosters and let me know if I missed any players
who should be inactive OR if you have any injury subs who should not be
there (especially for the non-playoff teams as all injury subs should be
off your team). If you need a sub, please contact Jeff Shelton asap so
he can try and get your hooked up with someone to get your game in.
Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on
the website. Game files are
up for week 6, so make sure you go download them and start making
contact for week 6 games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so
please ask before we get too far into things.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
Super Bowl XXV
New Orleans defeats New England to claim their 2nd
championship. This was a great game where both teams traded scores
throughout the whole game. Neither team scored twice in a row.
A 10-20 mph wind was a factor in the game. New Orleans scored
first then New England tied it up. After a Saints FG the Patriots
took their first lead 14-10. Then each team traded TD's until NE failed
to score on their final drive of the 4th quarter. David Montgomery
had a fantastic game running for 129 yards, 7.6 average and 2 TD's.
But this game was the Davante Adams show as the Superbowl MVP hauled in
12 receptions, 16.1 average, 11 first downs, 193 yards and 4 TD's.
Each team had 24 first downs, time of possession was only 20 seconds
apart and total yards were 381 to 380.
In a surprise move Cam Newton replaced Drew Brees
during their first drive of the 3rd quarter and leads New England to two
TD's. Cam ended up with a 116.7 QB rating for the half. New
England's defense had trouble containing Russell Wilson who scrambled 7
times for 43 yards and 4 first downs. In the end New England had
the ball with 3:49 seconds but the Saints defense raised to the task to
seal their 2nd championship in 3 years.
It was a great season for Daniele and his Patriots
who came close to an undefeated season.
