MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Two
weeks left and still a lot of jockeying for position in the playoffs
left to go. In the AFC New England has locked down the Central and a win
or Denver loss will clinch the #1 overall seed for them. Denver can
clinch the East with a win or Houston loss, but could end up needing the
head to head win over Houston in week 17.
LA Chargers lead the West by a game over San Francisco and can
clinch the division with a win and Niners loss or we can go down to week
17 to decide that winner there. Pittsburgh and Indianapolis have
clinched playoff spots and fight for seeding this week with the Steelers
a half game ahead. Houston and San Francisco sit in the last two playoff
spots with Minnesota two games back and needing a lot of help even if
they win out. Everyone else is making their golf reservations with
Cleveland fighting for the top lottery position.
In
the NFC New Orleans and Arizona are tied at the top of the West and the
conference with Arizona having the easier schedule as the Saints get the
Panthers this week who also have a shot at the West title still.
Jacksonville has locked up the East and at worst the #2 seed, but they
still have a shot a the top spot with some help and a couple of wins.
Kansas City has a 1 game lead in the Central over the Packers and
hold the tiebreaker right now with a better division record. Seattle and
Green Bay are tied for the final two playoff spots and the LA Rams are
the only team with a realistic shot at the playoffs though Detroit is
mathematically alive still but needs to beat Jacksonville and hope for
some losses.
I
need each of you to keep an eye on your rosters and let me know if
anyone who has an in game injury comes up inactive.
I checked all of the rosters, but any help I can get to avoid
this problem would be helpful and there is a game update available on
our website that everyone should get (see below). If you need a sub,
please contact Jeff Shelton asap so he can try and get your hooked up
with someone to get your game in.
Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on
the website. Game files are
up for week 6, so make sure you go download them and start making
contact for week 6 games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so
please ask before we get too far into things.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In the AFC New England clinched the Central with a win over Pittsburgh
and Indianapolis is a half game back of the Steelers as they beat
Chicago. Denver almost has the East locked up as they down Cleveland but
Houston keeps pace as they win big over NY Jets.
LA Chargers moves to a one game lead in the West as they beat
Green Bay and San Francisco falls back with a loss to Kansas City.
Dallas just gets by Buffalo for their fourth win and Minnesota wins big
of Tennessee to stay alive in the playoff hunt.
In the NFC New Orleans squeaks by Atlanta to stay on top of the West and
Arizona keeps pace as they win a shoot out over Carolina. Jacksonville
shuts out Tampa Bay to clinch the East and Seattle stays in the playoff
race with a win over Miami. Kansas City gets a big win over San
Francisco to move to the top of the Central and Green Bay falls to the
Chargers to drop a game back. LA Rams fall to Philadelphia and are the
last team with a good chance in the playoff race just a game back.
Detroit gets a big win over the NY Giants and mathematically are still
alive for the final playoff spot
Coming up in the AFC New England can clinch the #1 seed and a bye with a
win over Atlanta while Pittsburgh can clinch the #4 spot if they can top
Indianapolis who can leap frog ahead with a win.
Denver wins the East if they beat NY Jets or if Houston can’t get
a win at Tampa Bay. LA Chargers can clinch the West with a win over
Chicago and if San Francisco loses to Green Bay (or it could go to week
17). Minnesota needs a win over Cleveland to stay alive if one of the
teams they are chasing takes a loss and Tennessee and Dallas will fight
it out to see get out of the West basement.
Coming up in the NFC New Orleans will try to stay on top of the West
with a tough test in Carolina who also wants to stay alive for the
division while Arizona heads to Miami and hopes to be alone at the top
with a win. Jacksonville gets a visit from Detroit hoping to still be in
the hunt for the #1 seed while the Lions fight to stay alive for the
playoffs and Seattle gets a visit from the NY Giants. Kansas City needs
a win over the LA Rams to gain some distance in the Central but Green
Bay will try and keep pace as they get a visit from the Niners. Tampa
Bay looks for win #2 against Houston and Philadelphia hosts Buffalo.
Atlanta gets a tough test with the Patriots in town.
