I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

At the three quarter pole and with just 4 games left to play many teams are out of the playoff races, but there is still a lot left to be done, especially in the NFC.  4 teams are pretty much in the playoffs and then 3 teams are within 2 wins of first place in the Central.  Seattle is also still in a playoff position and Detroit is the only team within 2 games of 7th place. In the AFC the 7 teams are looking to be the playoff participants with 4 already clinched (Denver, New England, Pittsburgh and San Francisco) but Minnesota is 2 games back and look to be the only team who can break into the group with so few games left to play.

I need each of you to keep an eye on your rosters and let me know if anyone who has an in game injury comes up inactive.  I checked all of the rosters, but any help I can get to avoid this problem would be helpful and there is a game update available on our website that everyone should get (see below). If you need a sub, please contact Jeff Shelton asap so he can try and get your hooked up with someone to get your game in.  Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on the website.  Game files are up for week 6, so make sure you go download them and start making contact for week 6 games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so please ask before we get too far into things.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/26/21 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC New England has the first blemish on their record as they end up tied with Indianapolis but Pittsburgh falls to San Francisco and can’t manage to gain any ground. LA Chargers down Minnesota to stay within a game in the West while Denver gets a big win over Carolina. Houston tops Chicago and NY Jets just get by Cleveland. Buffalo takes a tough loss to New Orleans and Tennessee loses by a point to Green Bay. Dallas finishes things off with a shutout win over Miami.

In the NFC Carolina loses a big game to Denver and New Orleans wins big over Buffalo. Arizona also wins easily over NY Giants and 1 win separates all three in the West while Jacksonville stops Seattle and has a stranglehold on the East. Green Bay just gets by Tennessee to stay on top of the Central as Kansas City stays a game back with a win over LA Rams who drop out of the playoffs. Detroit loses a chance to gain ground with a loss to Atlanta and Philadelphia gives Tampa loss number 12.

Coming up in the AFC New England gets a visit from Seattle and Pittsburgh tries to get closer in the Central with a win over Chicago. Indianapolis travels to Detroit and Denver can almost clinch the East with a win over Tennessee. Houston will try and keep pace with the Broncos as they head to Cleveland and Buffalo and the NY Jets square off to try for third place in the division. San Francisco hosts Minnesota and LA Chargers head to Dallas as they continue the fight at the top of the West and try and eliminate Minnesota from the playoffs.

Coming up in the NFC Carolina will try and keep Tampa Bay winless and Arizona hopes to catch them with a win over Philadelphia. New Orleans and Jacksonville have a huge matchup while Seattle hopes to stay in touch with the Jags with a win over New England. Green Bay tries for a 2 game lead as they had to Kansas City while LA Rams looks to beat Miami to stay in this fight.  Detroit gets a visit from Indianapolis and Atlanta heads to NY Giants.
