I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Three quarters of the season in the books now and we have just 4 games left to go as the playoff races are just heating up.  After this week we will have our bye week and enjoy Thanksgiving and then be down to the final 3 games of the season, so please try and get everything in on time this week so we can enjoy that holiday with our families.

With 4 games left to go the playoff races are shaped up pretty well in both conferences with really just minor races for the final playoff slot and playoff positioning really all that is left at this point.  In the AFC Houston can all but lock up the East with a win and do so with a Denver loss.  Tennessee is in the same position out West with a win over LA Chargers, but a Chargers win tightens things up heading to the final 3 games.  New England can stay on top of the Central with a win over the Rams and Pittsburgh will need to beat a tough Indy team to keep pace. Indy really needs the win as a loss could drop them 2 games back in the wild card with 3 to play.  Everyone else has slim to no chance at even the 6th playoff spot.  In the NFC Kansas City has locked up the Central already and likely a top 2 playoff seed.  New Orleans leads the West by 2 games and holds the tiebreaker on Carolina with both teams playing lower teams in the standings this week.  The East is a mess with 3 teams within a game of the top, but all 3 have a 2 game lead on Tampa Bay for the final playoff spot.  A bunch of teams have 5 wins and outside chances at playoffs but would need a lot to go right to get there.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 11/05/20 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC Houston gets a tight win over Buffalo and Denver squeaks by Tampa to keep the lead to 3 games with 4 left to play in the East.  Tennessee wins big over Minnesota and the LA Chargers lose a tough one to the Saints to drop back 3 games in the West.  Pittsburgh stops Cleveland and New England shuts out NY Jets to stay tied atop the Central. Indianapolis loses to Chicago and drops 2 games back for the final playoff spot.  San Francisco loses to Carolina and Dallas falls to Arizona at the bottom of the West.

In the NFC New Orleans gets a big win over LA Chargers and Carolina keeps pace with a win over San Francisco.  Kansas City wins a shoot out over LA Rams and locks up the Central division title and Tampa Bay loses a close one to Denver and drops to 2 games back in the Wild Card.  Jacksonville wins a close one over Green Bay and Seattle stops Atlanta to stay at the top of the East.  NY Giants beat Detroit to hold on to the final playoff spot with a 2 game lead over Tampa and Arizona tops Dallas to stay in the playoff race.  Philadelphia beats Miami to keep slim playoff hopes alive.

Coming up this week in the AFC Tennessee and LA Chargers will meet quite possibly for the division title as the Titans will take it with a win and San Francisco tries to keep .500 in sight with a game against Minnesota.  Houston faces the hapless Jets and Denver tries to keep pace against equally hapless Atlanta.  Pittsburgh gets a tough test with an Indianapolis team who needs the win to stay in the playoff race and New England gets the 1-11 LA Rams to try and take the top spot in the Central.  Buffalo needs a win over Cleveland to have any playoff chance and Chicago will try and upset the one loss Chiefs.  Dallas faces New Orleans trying for their second win.

Coming up this week in the NFC New Orleans gets the 1-11 Cowboys while Carolina will try and stay alive for the division with a visit to Arizona.  Jacksonville plays Detroit and Seattle heads to the NY Giants with all 3 teams fighting for the top of the East.  Kansas City will look for win #12 against Chicago and Tampa Bay tries to stay in the wild card race at Philadelphia.  Miami hosts Green Bay and Atlanta heads to Denver.
