MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Congratulations to Ed on his first Super Bowl win in his third try and
to Valentino on making his first Super Bowl and having a great playoff
run. The Saints were able to
handle the Texans with Russell Wilson leading the way with 4 TD passes
for a 31-13 win. Thanks to
all for sticking with things in another rocky season but I think we are
looking pretty good going forward at this point so maybe that will all
be in the past. I will have
more information in the final season newsletter after the lottery and
ballot which we will be completing over the next little period of time.
Please if you have not yet done so go to the link below and add your
votes to the Awards, happy to see 11 teams have done so, would like a
few more before I tally the final vote so going to leave it open until
Sunday night for those who might still be interested -
https://kwiksurveys.com/s/6FE1ehie
Also
the ballot prop discussion should be coming to an end by Sunday as well.
So far we have discussed a couple of ideas involving rewarding teams for
subbing and realignment with very mixed results.
I saw a couple of new ideas as well crop up the other day, so
let’s see if we can’t get things wrapped up by Sunday night and I will
post a preliminary ballot to discuss at that point and get it voted on
so we can finish up the season.
Finally would like to also do the draft lottery Sunday night, so if I
can have two volunteers who do NOT have picks in the lottery to help me
out around 9 pm Sunday night I would appreciate it.
See
below for a recap and boxscore from the game and I have the final files
up on the website for those who are interested.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
Houston and New Orleans
face off in the long awaited Super Bowl. For the betters Houston
wins the toss and elects to receive. The Saints defense holds and
Russell Wilson finishes an 8 play drive with a 28 yard TD pass to
Devante Adams for the first score of the game. Tom Brady answers
with a 12 play TD drive to tie it up at 7's. Russell Wilson
answers with a 11 play TD drive ending with his 2nd TD pass to Adams.
New Orleans defense holds and takes a 21-7 lead when Kenyan Drake breaks
free for a 35 yard TD pass from a scrambling Russell Wilson. The
Texans go on a 12 play drive ending the half with a 56 yard FG.
21-10 as the teams await for the long half time show to end.
The Saints get the 2nd half
kick off and go 3 and out. Houston drives for a field goal to get
it to a 1 score game at 21-13. Houston gets another 3 and out but
the Saints defense holds the Texans to a 3 and out. Phillip
Lindsey makes his presence felt on the start of the next drive which
opens up the offense ending with his running mate Drakes 17 yard TD
reception. With a 2 score lead in the 2nd half the Texans go for
it and don't make it on 4th and 2 at the 16 yard line. New Orleans
seals the game with a 6 minute 54 second FG drive and the 31-13 final.
The New Orleans franchise
wins it's 1st Super Bowl on their 3rd try.
