MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
And
so we reach the end of our 22nd season with the ballot voting
now complete. Most of this
newsletter is a lot of the same information, but I will start off with
the ballot results as I know everyone is waiting for them. To put it
simply, nothing passed, but I will recap the voting in the next
paragraph. We are now officially in the offseason looking to start
things up in April and then drafting in May once the game has been
released. Thanks guys for
working through one of our tougher seasons, look forward to the next one
after a bit of a rest.
The
voting for the ballot props is complete with 27 of 28 teams casting
votes. There weren’t any
that were even really close to getting the needed 67% yes votes and all
but two were under 50%. Here
is the final results for all 6 props:
Prop
#1 – Mandatory Cut Downs – 14 yes, 12 no, 1 abstain
Prop
#2 – Change of playoff injury settings – 12 yes, 13 no, 2 abstain
Prop
#3 – Trading of picks 2 seasons out – 14 yes, 13 no
Prop
#4 – Practice Squad – 9 yes, 16 no, 2 abstain
Prop
#5 – Adding extra players to roster – 9 yes, 15 no, 3 abstain
Prop
#6 – Stats Packages – 10 yes, 13 no, 4 abstain
The
lottery results are in and the big winner this year is the San Francisco
49ers who jump all the way from #14 to the #1 overall pick!
Atlanta makes a smaller jump up to #2 and Seattle does the same
up to #3. Look for the final results of the lottery in a separate email!
ISFL
Awards were also announced this week, here is a recap of those results!
ISFL MVP - Drew Brees, Dallas Cowboys - 6 first
place votes, just edged out rookie Kareem Hunt who also had 6 first
place votes.
Well
so far a good offseason as I have already filled the 4 teams that were
league owned for most or all of this past season.
Hopefully we will stay full up through the offseason but at least
for now we have 28 owners and we are ready to move to the offseason when
the playoffs are finished. Here are the new owners and their contact
info:
Cleveland Browns – Mike Harvath -
bceconguy@yahoo.com
Final
playoff files can be found on the main page.
These are for review only and will be used to start next season.
If you see any injury replacements on your roster still, please send
that over and I will remove them!
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

II.
News from Around the League
Unlike the last game that
deserved a much better write-up, this one doesn’t deserve much of one at
all. Daniele had absolutely no chance today, as the football Gods were
against him from the start as the Giants cruise to a 27-3 victory and
win their first SuperBowl since 2001 !
The Giants didn’t waste any
time, as Jared Goff connected with DeAndre Hopkins for a 76-yard TD on
the first play from scrimmage. It was basically all downhill from there
for the Patriots, as the Giants scored TD’s on their first 3 possessions
and lead 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Cam Newton was so bad,
completing only 8 passes all day, that he was replaced by Brett Hundley
on a couple different occasions. Todd Gurley rushed for only 46 yards.
The Patriots were stymied by the Giants defense all day.
This was only my second
appearance in the SuperBowl, last getting there in 2004 with the Chiefs
and getting clobbered. Feels good to be on the other side of things,
despite it not being a great game.
Congrats again to Daniele
for a fantastic season and thanks to Mark for keeping things afloat
during a very trying season.
