MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
And
after all that work the two best teams record-wise end up playing for
the biggest prize in our sport as the New England Patriots will face off
with the New York Giants for Super Bowl XXII.
This is going to be a battle of two heavyweights with big time
offenses and stingy defenses, just a matter of which team flinches first
I think and it will be one you don’t want to miss!
Well
so far a good offseason as I have already filled the 4 teams that were
league owned for most or all of this past season.
Hopefully we will stay full up through the offseason but at least
for now we have 28 owners and we are ready to move to the offseason when
the playoffs are finished. Here are the new owners and their contact
info:
Cleveland Browns – Mike Harvath -
bceconguy@yahoo.com
I
will be nominating players/coaches/GMs for awards this year and we will
just make it a one round of voting as I would like to bring this back
and make it easier on you guys, look for this to be coming very soon (ie
this weekend). Voting can be found here -
https://kwiksurveys.com/s/QNMud4O7 - and are due by Sunday, January
27th.
Lottery will be done this Sunday, so if anyone is available in the
afternoon to help me out (non-lottery teams only please) I would
appreciate it so we can get things set up for the offseason.
Ballot props will be due this Sunday, so please get me the final,
official draft is you want anything included in the ballot. Please, well
thought out ideas only, I don’t want a long discussion that just goes
nowhere over the list, so please, if you have a good idea, flesh it out
and then feel free to share it either with me or to the list in general
if you want opinions. I will
take these until Sunday, January 27th after which I will put
together a ballot for everyone to vote on.
I am
still looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is
interested in the league as I would like to have someone waiting in the
wings should a team or two open up during the offseason.
Game
files can be found on the main page for the playoffs.
Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home team
should make contact asap.
I
can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game
export when the game is complete.
Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the
game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to
keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more
likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
Thanks to a fast start, New
England was able to reach their 2nd superbowl.
The home team started with
4 straight TD drives and after 22 minutes the score was 27-3. The main
actor of this was RB Gurley that, again, was almost unstoppable.
Dallas tried a comeback,
with a TD drive, and than with an onside kick recovered and converted in
a FG for the final score of the first half: 27-13.
THe second half started
with a punt from Dallas and immediately New England capitalized with
another score.
The game seemed over, but
back to back turnovers from the Patriots kept Dallas into the game, at
least until the final 10 minutes.
The final score was DAL 19
- NE 41.
Key factor was the running
game. New England run wild almost all the game, while Dallas wasn't able
to get anything on the ground.
Thanks to Bob for the nice
game and my congratulation for what he was able to do with Dallas this
year.
Honesty, i never thought
that with that roster Dallas could have been so competitive. In my
opinion, most of the credit goes to the coach.
NFC Championship Game -
CAR (28) at NYG (34)
This was a great game that
deserves a great write up, but I just got home from vacation and I’m
freaking exhausted so forgive me!
Giants move on to the
SuperBowl with an exicting 34-26 win over the Panthers. Terrific game by
Shan, who was ultra-ultra aggressive and it didn’t quite pay off for
him.
Jared Goff, who was
absolutely brutal early on (something like 4/12 with an interception in
the end zone?), rebounded in the 2nd half to be named game
MVP.
Carolina’s dual receiving
threats of Stefon Diggs and Antonio Brown went unchecked most of the
game, each catching 10 passes, while the Giants DeAndre Hopkins caught
only 5, but it was a 72 yard bomb from Goff that got the Giants rolling.
Congrats to Shan for an
excellent season, and we look forward to one more big game!
