I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Not going to beat a dead horse anymore on game contacts, please just do your best to make sure you play your games hth in these final two weeks.  Just 2 more games for everyone, good luck to all on the road to the playoffs.  It is time to start looking for owners for next year, so if you know of anyone looking for a team, start sending them my way and that will solve a lot of our issues with hth scheduling.

Just 2 games left, the playoffs are in sight and the picture is starting to clear up.  NY Giants need win or Carolina loss to clinch the NFC #1 seed, Carolina holds a 1 game lead on New Orleans for the West and #2 seed. St. Louis has wrapped up the Central division and look to be the #3 seed.  Jacksonville sits at #5 and needs a win or Packer loss to clinch a playoff spot while Philadelphia is in 6th and needs a win or Packer loss as well. Green Bay is the only team left alive and but need to win out and get a lot of help to make it to the post season.  In the AFC New England’s perfect season is over, but they still have the #1 seed locked up due to a week 1 win over Dallas. The Cowboys sit at #2 and need a win or Tennessee loss to win the West.  Houston has come all the way back and now lead the East after a big win over Denver but with a tough week 17 game vs New England the NY Jets still have some life but face Denver and Jacksonville, nothing easy there either.  Jets, Steelers and Titans all sit at 9-5 with 2 games left, so a lot left to do there and Denver sits a game back and can definitely can be part of the picture before it is all done.

I am still looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is interested in the league, we need owners for Cleveland, Detroit and NY Jets and would like to fill these spots as soon as possible. Walt Sienzant is going to cover the games for Detroit for this coming season and Ed Minshull is going to cover the games for NY Jets for now as well.  Please try and be as flexible as possible when scheduling games with these two guys as they are playing twice as many games as the rest of us.  If anyone is interested in running St. Louis for the rest of the season, I would appreciate the help (may be of interest to teams already out of the playoffs as the Rams appear to be getting an invite). Also, Philadelphia needs a sub to cover their game this week if anyone is available to stand in for them.

Game files are located on the website for week 16.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/16/18 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

This week in the AFC New England takes their first loss of the season as division rival Indianapolis pulls the upset and Pittsburgh wins over St. Louis to move up in the playoff standings.  Dallas beats San Diego and takes a two game lead on Tennessee who falls to Carolina.  Houston stops Denver and NY Jets fall to Buffalo and drop a game back in the playoff standings.  San Francisco loses a close one to NY Giants and Cleveland wins a tight one over Minnesota. Chicago falls to Kansas City to round out the slate.

This week in the NFC NY Giants continue to roll as they top San Francisco and Jacksonville stumbles at Green Bay as the Giants lock up a playoff bye.  Carolina just keeps winning as they beat Tennessee and New Orleans keeps pace as thy stops Philadelphia who drop back to the final playoff spot.  St. Louis falls to Pittsburgh but still lock up the #3 seed for the NFC playoffs.  Tampa Bay tops Arizona and Seattle just gets by Detroit.  Miami still searches for their first win after a loss to Atlanta.

Coming up in the AFC New England will try and get back on the winning road against Minnesota and Pittsburgh looks to solidify their hold on a playoff spot against San Francisco.  Dallas gets a visit from Arizona and Tennessee hosts San Diego and if both win they set up a week 17 matchup for the division.  Houston travels to Cleveland and can lock up the division with a win and loss by NY Jets at Denver.  Indianapolis hosts Chicago in their quest to get back to .500 and Buffalo has Seattle in town.

Coming up in the NFC NY Giants head to Jacksonville trying to lock up #1 overall and Detroit travels to Atlanta.  Carolina will try and keep Miami winless and New Orleans gets a visit from St. Louis as they try and keep pace.  Philadelphia hosts Tampa Bay as they try and hold off Green Bay who play Kansas City and could be out with a loss.  Seattle travels to Buffalo and Arizona is in Dallas.
