I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Guys, I know some of you have teams that are just playing out the season, but often these games affect other teams, so I still need you to please play your games hth and do better contacting each other. I see many contacts that go unanswered each week and that isn’t fair to the teams who are trying to set up their games and play them properly. If you aren’t able to play your game, please, try and find someone to play your game for you or at least contact your opponent so they know to look for a sub. We have the bye week coming up soon, so let’s get this weeks games done and then you get 2 weeks to get the next block of games done.

Playoff races continue to take shape with a team in each conference already clinching a spot in the postseason.  In the NFC NY Giants have a two game lead in the East and overall, followed by St. Louis and Carolina both leading their divisions at 9-3.  Jacksonville holds the first wild card slot, followed by Philly and New Orleans with only Green Bay at 6-6 with a real chance at the playoffs. In the AFC New England can clinch the conference with a win and losses from Dallas and NY Jets who both lead their divisions. Houston and Tennessee both sit in the 4th and 5th slots and then you have Denver with the tiebreaker over Pittsburgh for the final playoff place.  Three other teams have an outside chance, but need a lot of losing to happen if they want to get in.  Miami and Minnesota continue the hunt for the first win of the season and trying to avoid the goose egg.

I am still looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is interested in the league, we need owners for Cleveland, Detroit and NY Jets and would like to fill these spots as soon as possible. Walt Sienzant is going to cover the games for Detroit for this coming season and Ed Minshull is going to cover the games for NY Jets for now as well.  Please try and be as flexible as possible when scheduling games with these two guys as they are playing twice as many games as the rest of us.  If anyone is interested in running St. Louis for the rest of the season I would appreciate the help (may be of interest to teams already out of the playoffs as the Rams appear to be getting an invite). Also Indianapolis and Tennessee both needs subs to cover their games this week if anyone is available to stand in for them.

Game files are located on the website for week 13.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/16/18 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

This week in the AFC it appears no one can stop the New England Patriots as they move to 12-0 with a win over Cleveland while Pittsburgh tops Chicago but it isn’t enough to stop the Pats from clinching the division.  Dallas keeps Minnesota winless and Tennessee gets a huge win over New Orleans to keep pace.  NY Jets down Atlanta and Houston falls back a game with a loss to San Francisco.  Denver stays ahead of Pittsburgh for the final playoff spot with a win at Seattle and San Diego takes home a win against Buffalo to keep their playoff hopes afloat.  Indianapolis takes the upset win over St. Louis to round out the slate.

This week in the NFC The NY Giants are now two games clear in the division and conference as they win over Kansas City and Jacksonville keeps in touch with a win over Detroit.  Carolina continues to climb the standings into first place with a win over Philadelphia and New Orleans falls to Tennessee as they continue their spiral down.  St. Louis stumbles at Indianapolis and Green Bay tops Miami to get a game back in the Central.  Tampa Bay gets by Arizona to move out of the basement in the West and Seattle drops one at Denver.  Atlanta loses to the NY Jets to stay at the bottom of the East.

Coming up in the AFC New England can potentially clinch the conference with a win over Chicago and Pittsburgh needs a win in Green Bay to stay in the playoff hunt.  Dallas hosts San Francisco and Tennessee heads to Buffalo as both teams fight for the top of the West.  NY Jets host Houston in the battle for the top of the East and can put a strangle hold on the division with a win or we can end up tied heading to the bye.  Denver hosts Atlanta as they try and lock up the #6 playoff slot.  San Diego is off to Carolina and Indianapolis will try and keep Miami winless.  Minnesota looks for their first win over Philadelphia and Cleveland looks to keep their slim playoff hopes alive with a win over Detroit.

Coming up in the NFC NY Giants face a stiff test with a visit to St. Louis as they both fight for the conference title and Jacksonville travels to Seattle hoping to make up some ground.  Carolina hosts San Diego out West and Philadelphia gets a visit from Minnesota trying to avoid the big upset. New Orleans tries to get back on track on a trip to Arizona and Green Bay tries to keep playoff hopes alive when they host Pittsburgh.  Detroit heads to Cleveland and Tampa Bay is off to Kansas City.  Miami looks for their first win over Indianapolis and Atlanta looks for the upset in Denver.
