I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Not too bad this week, just keep on top of those game contacts as we head towards the end of the season. I know for some as they drop out of the playoff race it is tougher to get up to play HTH, just please do your best and always try and be that spoiler.  The NFC appears to be where the action is as we have 5 teams at 7-2 or better and Carolina sitting in 6th place with a 2 game lead.  In the AFC things are tighter after you get past undefeated NE as we have 5 teams at 6-3 and 2 more within a game or two of them.  Will Miami or Minnesota break their winless streak first or could we have our first season ever with two teams without a win. Trade deadline is here, all deals must be confirmed by 10 pm Eastern next Monday.  Just 1 trade in week 9, so will there be a flurry or will the deadline pass without much fanfare?

I am still looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is interested in the league, we need owners for Cleveland, Detroit and NY Jets and would like to fill these spots as soon as possible. Walt Sienzant is going to cover the games for Detroit for this coming season and Ed Minshull is going to cover the games for NY Jets for now as well.  Please try and be as flexible as possible when scheduling games with these two guys as they are playing twice as many games as the rest of us.  Also, right now Bill Robison of St. Louis is MIA, if anyone has any contact from him, please let me know asap.  For now, try and contact him for games but go ahead with a sub if you don’t hear anything within 24 hours.

Game files are located on the website for week 10.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/16/18 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

This week in the AFC New England pull one out to stay undefeated and drop Pittsburgh 3 games behind for the division and Chicago gets a win over San Francisco.  NY Jets fall to Dallas and Houston beats Indianapolis for a tie at the top of the East.  Tennessee drops Minnesota to stay tied at the top of the West with Dallas and San Diego falls to Philadelphia.  Denver doubles up Buffalo and stays alive in the playoff race just behind Cleveland who beats Seattle.

This week in the NFC New Orleans wins big over Tampa and Philadelphia keeps pace with a win over San Diego.  In the East NY Giants down Detroit and Jacksonville gets a win over Atlanta to stay 1 game back.  St. Louis tops Kansas City in the Central to keep their lead at 3 games over Green Bay who keeps Miami winless.  Carolina sits in the final playoff spot with a win over Arizona and Seattle falls to Cleveland.

Coming up in the AFC New England looks for double digit wins as they host Chicago and Pittsburgh travels to Houston with both teams fighting for a playoff spot.  Tennessee is in San Francisco and Dallas has a big test against New Orleans as they fight for the top of the West.  NY Jets and Cleveland battle at the top of the East with the outcome either distancing the teams or possible creating a 3 way tie at the top.  Denver and San Diego fight for their playoff lives with the loser likely on the way to the golf course and Minnesota looks for win #1 against Carolina.

Coming up in the NFC NY Giants travels to Tampa Bay and Jacksonville hosts Seattle as they battle at the top of the East.  New Orleans hosts Dallas and Philadelphia gets a visit from Kansas City as they both try for the top of the West.  St. Louis gets winless Miami as they look to lock up the Central while Green Bay hosts Arizona and tries to stay in touch. Carolina will try and keep Minnesota from a win as they look to solidify their final playoff seeding and Detroit and Atlanta battle it out in the bottom of the East.
