I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Instead of clearing things up this weeks games just set up week 17 as a lot of winner take all matchups.  In the AFC Houston has won the East and sit in the driver seat for the conference with 1 game left to play though Indianapolis who has won the Central does hold the tiebreaker with the best conference record.  Out West San Francisco wins the division by beating Tennessee in week 17, Dallas wins the division with a San Francisco loss and a win over Indianapolis and Tennessee can win the division still despite starting the season 0-3 by beating San Francisco and Dallas losing to Indianapolis. New England and Tennessee are a game up on Cleveland for the final two playoff seeds due to tiebreakers it appears that Cleveland has been eliminated from contention even if they end up tied with one or both teams.

In the NFC nothing at all has been decided at this point with 8 teams still alive for 6 playoff slots heading to week 17. Carolina leads New Orleans by a game out West and for the conference title and a win gives them the division, while a loss and a New Orleans win gives the Saints the division on the 4th tiebreaker of conference record. Philadelphia is in the playoffs and just waits to see where they end up in the seeding.  In the East Jacksonville leads Detroit by a game and wins the division with a win over Atlanta, while Detroit can tie the division with a win over the NY Giants and a loss by Jacksonville, then Detroit wins the division with a better division record either way both are in the playoffs.  The Central got a bit clearer with the upset win by Kansas City over Houston, they just need to win and they get in.  If they lose, then the winner of the Green Bay and St. Louis will go deep into the tiebreakers and looks like GB may hold the upper hand while St. Louis may still lose out even if they win but too many variables to be sure just yet. Files are ready for week 17, go ahead and get rolling on setting up your games please.

I am looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is interested in the league, I need an owner in Dallas and would like some names to get ready in case we have more openings after the season.  Game files are located on the website and are ready for week 17.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/31/17 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC Houston falls in OT to Kansas City and drop to the #2 slot while  while Indianapolis drops San Diego and hold the #1 playoff spot with a better conference record.  Dallas beats San Francisco to create a tie at the top of the West and Tennessee falls to Minnesota but are still alive for the division and sit in a playoff spot.  NY Jets beat Denver and are tied for the 4th slot in the playoffs while New England falls to Arizona but still are tied for the final playoff position with Tennessee.  Pittsburgh falls in Carolina to get eliminated and Cleveland beats Buffalo but are out of the playoffs as well.  Chicago loses to Tampa Bay in the final game of the week.

In the NFC Carolina tops Pittsburgh and are #1 in the conference while New Orleans beats Philadelphia to move into the #2 spot all alone through Philadelphia is still in the playoffs.  Jacksonville falls to NY Giants as upsets abound this week and Detroit finishes off St. Louis to move within a game of the top of the East.  Atlanta falls to Seattle and are eliminated from the playoffs while Arizona beats New England and Tampa Bay beats Chicago but both are outside looking in (the NFC West owned the AFC Central this week). In the Central division we have a mess as Green Bay beats Miami and St. Louis falls to Detroit while Kansas City beats Houston and takes control in the Central.

Coming up in the AFC Houston takes on the NY Jets and Indianapolis is at Dallas in the fight for home field throughout.  San Francisco plays Tennessee and the West could end up all tied up or one team could emerge all alone.  New England hosts Chicago and look to gets themselves into the postseason with a win while Cleveland heads to Miami.  Pittsburgh has Tampa Bay in town and Denver matches up with San Diego.  Minnesota travels to Seattle and Buffalo visits Kansas City looking to knock the Chiefs out of the playoffs.

Coming up in the NFC Carolina heads to Philadelphia and New Orleans hosts Arizona with the division and conference titles both on the line.  Jacksonville needs a win over Atlanta while Detroit will hope they lose and then are able to avoid the upset by the NY Giants and take the division.  Kansas City hosts Buffalo and Green Bay travels to St. Louis as all three teams fight it out for one final playoff spot and the Central division title. Seattle hosts Minnesota, Miami does the same for Cleveland and Tampa Bay heads to Pittsburgh as all three play out the string.
