I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Four weeks to go and the playoff pictures only appear to be getting muddier right now. Instead of clearing up the playoff picture, this week just made it even muddier than it already was.  In the AFC Houston, San Francisco and Indianapolis all have 2 game leads in their division but that would tighten up quickly. After those 3 there are 6 teams from 8-4 to 6-6 that are all in the playoff picture and even Denver and Chicago are mathematically alive.  In the NFC, the West is a mess with 3 teams all tied at 10-2 and likely playoff bound.  The East isn’t much better with Jacksonville holding a slim 1 game lead over Atlanta and Detroit and the Central St. Louis is just hanging on over KC right now.  Arizona, Tampa and Seattle are on life support and could be gone after this week. FYI, I am pushing back this weeks deadline until Tuesday night since we have the week off for Thanksgiving and I have something that will keep me out late on Monday, figured I would give everyone that extra night to get their games done.

I am looking for potential owners right now if you know anyone who is interested in the league, I need an owner in Dallas and would like some names to get ready in case we have more openings after the season.  Game files are located on the website and are ready for week 13.  Please make sure you get started on game contacts asap, home teams should make contact by Wednesday and the game should be set up no later than Thursday of each week.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/31/17 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC Houston beats Pittsburgh and has a two game lead in the East while Indianapolis takes down Cleveland for the same lead in the Central. Out West Tennessee beats San Francisco to cut their lead to 2 games while Dallas falls to NY Jets who are within two games of the Texans.  New England gets a comeback win over Chicago to stay tied for the final playoff slot and Denver falls to Buffalo and likely are done for the year.  Minnesota gets their second win over the Giants and San Diego falls to Jacksonville to move into the basement.

In the NFC New Orleans gets the win over Philadelphia and Carolina beats Tamp Bay for a 3 way tie at the top of the West.  Jacksonville beats San Diego and Detroit takes down Atlanta and it’s a 1 game difference between the three in the East.  Kansas City beats St. Louis and cuts the Rams lead to 1 game in the Central while Arizona falls to Green Bay and likely out of the playoffs.  Seattle beats Miami to keep slim playoff hopes alive and the NY Giants fall to Minnesota to take sole possession of the worst record in the league.

Coming up in the AFC Houston heads to St. Louis and NY Jets are in Indianapolis as the battle at the top of the East continues.  Pittsburgh hosts Chicago and New England travels to San Diego as they try and cut into Indianapolis’ lead in the Central.  San Francisco follows a tough loss to Tennessee with a trip to Detroit and Tennessee heads to Minnesota while Dallas hosts the NY Giants and try and cut the lead out West in half.  Cleveland heads West to Denver with the loser likely out of the playoffs and Buffalo travels to Miami for a matchup of 2-10 teams looking for win #3.

Coming up in the NFC New Orleans big win over Philadelphia gets the follow up of a match with Carolina while Philly tries to bounce back with Arizona on a visit at the top of the West.  Jacksonville is in Seattle, while Detroit hosts the Niners and Atlanta heads to Green Bay looking to straighten out the East.  St. Louis tries to get back to their winning ways with Houston in town while Kansas City looks to take advantage of this tough matchup with Tampa Bay in town.  Miami and Buffalo both look for their third win and NY Giants head to Dallas and try to get out of the basement.
