I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Wanted to get out the final awards since they are all in and compiled. Congratulations to all of the winners (see below) and I have updated the Awards page.

Also would like to announce our three new owners to the league as they prepare to join us and take over their teams heading into the offseason.

John Carrol - NY Jets - jrc51580@mail.com

Steve Casper - Philadelphia - casp1383@yahoo.com

Walt Sienzant - Green Bay - metagiant@aol.com

Rob Brewster - Associate - saga038more@outlook.com

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/08/16 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

Final awards voting is complete and the results are posted on the awards page.  Here is a summary of how the voting went for this year.  Likely this will be the last year we do these as it isn’t worth my time when I have so many who don’t care if we do them or not and don’t want to spend the 15 minutes it takes to vote (nevermind that I spend 5 times as long to prepare it).  So enjoy them this year and sorry to those who like them and don’t mind helping but my time gets tighter every year and these are the kinds of things I can cut out to make my life easier.

Most Valuable Player

Actually closer than I thought it might be as Antonio Brown of the Carolina Panthers has a record setting season and does win it by more than 2 to 1, but only 14 first place votes to take this years MVP.  Derek Carr and Russell Wilson finish a distant 2nd and 3rd though each did have some first place votes.

Coach of the Year

A fairly close vote, but no surprise here as Super Bowl winning coach Sri Gullapalli of the Indianapolis Colts takes home the hardware.  With 9 first place votes Sri takes the top spot over Shan Wu and Bill Muller, both coming off very impressive offensive seasons.

GM of the Year

Daniele Miozzi from New England makes it back to back for the top front office in the ISFL.  With 10 first place votes he tops Sri Gullapalli and Bill Muller by almost 2 to 1 to easily take home the trophy.

AFC Offensive Player of the Year

Cam Newton of New England garners 14 first place votes and is on 21 ballots to win the AFCs top Offensive Player vote.  Aaron Rodgers finishes up second though takes home the Super Bowl Trophy and Doug Martin has the leagues best season on the ground to finish in third.

AFC Defensive Player of the Year

Not sure we’ve ever had this happen but a rookie takes home the AFC tops Defensive award as Marcus Peters of New England finishes on top.  Peters gets 10 first place votes and finds his way to 19 ballots to edge out Patrick Peterson.  Aaron Donald finishes a distant third place in the voting.

NFC Offensive Player of the Year

Not surprising at all that Antonio Brown of Carolina takes home this award to go with his MVP.  The only shock may be that someone actually left him off their ballot all together as he gets 15 first place and 9 second place votes.  Russell Wilson finishes well back in second just edging out Derek Carr with a couple more first place votes.

NFC Defensive Player of the Year

Melvin Ingram was the sack master this year in Carolina and road that right to the top of the voting for Defensive MVP in his conference with 15 first place votes.  JJ Watt finishes well back in second place and Von Miller was even further back in third.

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Not a real close vote as for the second year in a row a wide receiver takes him the ROTY vote with Amari Cooper of the Miami Dolphins putting up the best numbers for a rookie and getting 12 first place votes and 9 second place votes to easily take the top spot.  Jameis Winston comes in a distant second and David Johnson with a nice year on the ground finishes third in voting.

Defensive Rookie of the Year

No surprise here at all since he already took his conference defensive player top spot as Marcus Peters gets 23 of 25 first place votes and is on every ballot to win the award.  Ronal Darby just barely edges out Leonard Williams for second place but no one as in the same class as Peters who was nearly unanimous for this award.
