I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

And we have reached the end of another ISFL season with a great Super Bowl following a pretty good regular season.  It appears all 28 teams will be returning for next season and with the game to be released in a few weeks we will be starting to look towards the draft tentatively starting on Saturday, May 7th.  I have updated the calendar page and the awards page as well with those results being listed below.  If anyone has an offseason questions for me, let me know asap as I will be out of town til the end of the month starting on Sunday.  I will get started on new files as soon as I get back and the game is released and will open up trading as soon as I get the first preseason file set released.  Enjoy some time off guys and then we’ll get started on the draft towards next season.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 08/14/15 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

The 2015 ISFL Awards were announced today, congratulations to the winners and those who received votes.

ISFL MVP

Big Ben Roethlisberger gets the nod as the best player in the ISFL this past season receiving 16 first place votes and appearing on 20 ballots.  Antonio Brown finished up second with 5 first lace and 12 second place votes and DeMarco Murry was the distant third vote getter with 3 first place and 5 second place votes.

ISFL Coach of the Year

No real surprise here as the coach that went 16-0 through the regular season gets 22 first place votes and ends up on 26 total ballots to win this one in a landslide.  Ashton Ewing of Tennessee finishes up second with 3 first place and 13 second place votes and Ed Minshull was even further back on the strength of 6 second place and 11 third place votes.

ISFL GM of the Year

This one was a very tight vote but Daniele Miozzi of the New England Patriots edges out Dave Stewart and Ashton Ewing on the strength of 11 first place votes. Dave received 9 first place and Ashton 4 first and 10 second place votes as just 17 overall points separated the three with all being worthy in this category of team building.

AFC Offensive Player of the Year

Another close vote as DeMarco Murray edges out Le’Veon Bell by 7 total points with Murray receiving 10 first place to 7 for Bell.  Aaron Rodgers finished a distant third with 4 first place and 8 second place votes.

AFC Defensive Player of the Year

Surprisingly not a close vote as Paul Kruger takes this one going away with 14 first place votes and 22 ballots overall.  Surprising rookie CJ Mosley finishes second with 5 first place and 19 overall ballots and De’Andre Levy finished a close third with 4 first place votes being the difference.

NFC Offensive Player of the Year

In what was a much closer vote than the MVP voting, Roethlisberger edges out Antonio Brown with 12 first place and 7 second place votes to 11 first place and 6 second place votes for Brown.  Marshawn Lynch of Detroit finishes a distant third place with 4 first place votes and 17 overall ballots.

NFC Defensive Player of the Year

The closest vote yet which went down the final ballot as Elvis Dumervil edges out JJ Watt on the strength of 11 first place votes and 20 overall ballots.  Watt had 9 first place and 21 overall ballots but came up 3 points short.  Von Miller finishes third with 3 first place and 15 second place votes.

Offensive Rookie of the Year

Another tight race as Odell Beckham Jr edges out Jeremy Hill for the top spot in this category.  Beckham received 11 first place votes to just 7 for Hill and that was the difference as Hill received 13 second place votes to only 7 for Beckham.  Derek Carr finished a strong third place with 9 first place votes and 20 overall ballots.

Defensive Rookie of the Year

Not a close vote at all as Khalil Mack is the run away winner with 17 first place votes and 26 overall ballots.  CJ Mosely finished well back in second place with 4 first place and 14 second votes while Aaron Donald finished up third with 6 first place votes and 20 overall ballots.

Congratulations again to all of this years winner and the awards page has been updated to reflect the results.
