I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Indianapolis is the first team to clinch a playoff position as they lock up the AFC Central despite losing this week and losing Rodgers for a while.  The other divisions are all still contested and should make for some interesting races to the end. Be sure if you have trouble hooking up that you get a plan in place and contact me for a sub if needed.  Thanks for the great work guys!  I have updated files on the website for week 12, go ahead and get those and start making your game contacts for the week, with home team making contact by Tuesday and the games hopefully being set up by Wednesday.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 10/10/14 ***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.  Also, be sure you give me enough names as the more injuries the more likely someone else already grabbed the guy you want.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Indianapolis falls to San Diego but still clinch the Central division and a playoff slot and Dallas keeps pace with the Chargers by winning at New England.  Denver falls to Cleveland who gains on the Broncos but Houston loses to Pittsburgh and both teams sit 3 games back with just 5 games left to play.  Tennessee sneaks by the NY Jets to keep a 2 game lead for the 5th playoff position while San Francisco beats Minnesota to stay tied for the final playoff spot with Cleveland and Houston.  Chicago loses to St. Louis but join the group of 6 teams just 1 out of the playoff slot that 9 teams still have a shot at.

In the NFC, New Orleans beats Tampa Bay and Philadelphia wins at Carolina to keep things the same in the West.  Detroit wins big over Atlanta to tie things up in the East and Jacksonville beats Arizona to stay 1 game back and in the final playoff position. Seattle wins over Buffalo to stay in the playoff hunt and St. Louis beats Chicago to keep their slim playoff chances alive.  Kansas City beats NY Giants and Green Bay gets a win over Miami to keep even in the Central at the top with the Rams just a game behind.

Week 12 in the AFC San Diego host a big game with New Orleans and Dallas hosts Arizona as both teams fight for the West and if they win they both clinch playoff slots.  Indianapolis heads to Chicago as they try and stay on top of the conference and Tennessee is in Minnesota as they try and lock in the 5th playoff spot. Denver heads south to Tampa and Cleveland is in Pittsburgh while Houston is in Buffalo with the Broncos hoping to put a lock on the East.  New England and the NY Jets play with the loser likely eliminated from the playoffs and San Francisco is in Carolina as they fight to stay tied for the final playoff slot.

Week 12 in the NFC New Orleans and San Diego face off with the Saints trying to hold off Philadelphia who hosts Miami.  Detroit has the Giants in town and Atlanta will try and slow down Seattle and keep pace with the Lions.  Kansas City matches up with St. Louis and Green Bay is in Jacksonville as both teams try and stay on top in the Central.  Arizona goes to Dallas and Tampa Bay hosts Denver as both teams can merely playoff spoilers now with playoff chances gone.

Playoff race updates will appear here following week 12 as more teams start to clinch spots and things become more clear.  With all 14 teams still alive in the AFC, it’s a mess, while in the NFC there are 4 teams likely in and then 4 teams fighting for the final 2 spots.
