I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Wow, the trade deadline comes and goes without a whimper, not even one trade this year as the contenders apparently are set to make their runs.  Please, if you send me an injury sub request, let me know the full name of the player being replaced, how many games and the full name of the replacement so I don’t have to try and figure all that out on my own, just saves me some time.

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.

***A new game update is available dated 10/13, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.***

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Cleveland beats Houston for their second win and Denver keeps on winning as they beat the Bears.  Dallas stays on top of the West with a win over the Titans and San Francisco beats San Diego to stay in the playoff hunt.  New York Jets beat the Rams and New England gets to .500 against Minnesota.  Indy loses to the Saints to tighten up the Central and Buffalo wins an OT game over Pittsburgh to stay in the final playoff slot.

In week 10, Denver faces off with Philadelphia for the game of the week and New England tries to keep pace with Indy against Cleveland.  Tennessee hosts Houston as they try and stay in the final playoff spot and Pittsburgh heads to Arizona looking for win #4.  Buffalo hosts the Rams and the Jets do the same for Miami.  Indianapolis tries to get back on the winning track against Chicago and Dallas will try and continue their winning ways against San Diego.  San Francisco tries to stay in the playoff race as they host Minnesota.  Denver holds a 1 game lead on New York in the East, Indianapolis does the same in the Central over New England and Dallas has a 2 game lead in the West.  The Jets hold playoff spot #4 by 2 games and Buffalo and Tennessee are tied for the final 2 spots.  New England sits a game back in the wild card and San Francisco and San Diego 2 games back.  Pittsburgh and Houston are just about out of the race, Minnesota and Cleveland even further back and Chicago looks to be the first team eliminated in the next week or two.

In the NFC, Jacksonville wins the game of the week on three FGs over the Packers and Atlanta puts a beat down on Arizona, leaving the Jags on top of the conference.  Carolina stays alive with a win over Miami and St. Louis loses again to the Jets this time.  Tampa Bay beats Philadelphia as the teams on top of the West have a bad week and Detroit keeps pace with the Jags as they beat Seattle.  Kansas City beats the Giants to stay alive in the playoffs and New Orleans does the same with a win over Indy.

Week 9 in the NFC has Green Bay hosting Kansas City as the Chiefs get their last shot to make a run at the Packers and Philadelphia hosts Denver as they try and catch the Cards in the West.  Arizona hosts Pittsburgh as they try and stay on top and Jacksonville heads to Detroit to with a one game lead in the East.  St. Louis and Miami both looks to be upset specials against Buffalo and NY Jets respectively and New Orleans heads to Tampa Bay as they hope to make up ground in the West.  Seattle and Carolina face off, with the loser probably in trouble for the playoffs and the Giants look to knock off the Falcons who still have a chance in the playoffs.  Jacksonville has a one game lead over Detroit and Arizona the same over Philadelphia, with all 4 in good positions for the playoffs.  Green Bay has a 3 game lead in the Central and with a win over KC this week pretty much lock up the division.  New Orleans and Seattle are tied for the 6th spot with KC, Carolina and Atlanta a game back in the wild card.  St. Louis and Tampa are on life support and Miami and the Giants are pretty well done for the year.
