I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

First week went pretty smoothly thanks to some help from various owners, thanks to you all for stepping up and getting the games done in plenty of time this week.  Lot’s of injuries, so make sure I get your replacements correctly to your team.  Good luck to all and get started on week 2 contacts.

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.

A new game update is available dated 08/15, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Denver provides a rude welcome for the new owner in Houston with a big win to start the season, while the Jets squeak by the Browns in what could be a very tight division.  Buffalo wins over Chicago, while the Steelers win an exciting one over the Colts and the Patriots beat the Saints.  San Diego beats Minnesota handily to move out of the basement early while Tennessee drops a close one to the Giants.  Dallas beats San Francisco to take an early lead in the division.

In week 2, Buffalo hosts Green Bay as they try for 2-0 and Houston and Cleveland look to avoid an 0-2 start in the toughest division.  Tennessee needs to get healthy in more ways than one against Detroit and New England looks to try and dethrone the Jets before they build too much momentum.  Denver looks to show they are for real as they host a desperate Indy team and Dallas will try for 2-0 against an undermanned Vikings club.  San Francisco will try to slow down the Chargers early start and Pittsburgh and Chicago face off in a big division rivalry game that the Bears usually win at their place.

In the NFC, Philly looks to be improved as they beat the usually dominant Rams and Arizona gets a bit early win over division rival Carolina.  Green Bay beats Tampa and Miami drops one to Kansas City who moves to the top of the division.  Jacksonville gets the win over the Seahawks and the Giants move to 1-0 with an interconference win.  Detroit keeps pace with the Giants with a win of their own over the Falcons.

Week 2 in the NFC has the Rams and Saints looking to avoid 0-2 starts and Green Bay traveling to Buffalo.  Kansas City and Arizona face off in a battle of week one winners and Detroit travels to an already battered Tennessee team. Philly looks to go 2-0 against Carolina while the Giants are trying for their own second win over Tampa Bay.  Jacksonville and Miami look for win #1 this week while Atlanta and Seattle do the same thing.
