I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Here we are again, start of another season, our 15th as a league and things are ready to roll.  Please get the game files, the latest Action file and start contacting your opponents.  Good luck to all, and have a great season!

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.

A new game update is available dated 08/15, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, the new look Denver Broncos, who should be ready to make some noise this year, head to the new coach in Houston, should be a great matchup to start the season.  Also in the AFC East, the Jets head to the Browns as we see if there is a changing of the guard or if the champs are still the team to beat.  Buffalo hosts the Bears in a matchup of building clubs who are probably on the edge of playoff contention and Minnesota heads to San Diego as last years cellar dwellers both look to get a win early.  Tennessee travels to the Giants, does Manning have the weapons this year and are the Titans going to step back up to the playoffs?  Dallas and San Francisco meet in a week 1 with the Niners looking to try and dethrone the Cowboys. Pittsburgh and Indy renew their rivalry and one team will get an early leg up on the division while the Patriots look to rebound this year but start with a tough one as New Orleans comes to town.

In the NFC, St. Louis will try and stay at the top of the Central division and face Philly who are coming off their worst season, which means they likely will have more weapons to work with.  Arizona and Carolina start up the fight in the West right off the bat and we get the battle of the Bays in week 1 as Green Bay heads to Tampa.  Seattle and Jacksonville will look for an early win to right their ships after tough 2010 seasons and the Giants look to get back to the top of the East with an early win over the Titans. Miami and Kansas City start their quests to beat the Rams for the division title while the loser will start in a hole right off the bat.  Detroit will try and get started on their defense of the East but the Falcons will have something to say about that and hope to get an early lead on the Lions.
