I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 8 is complete, please be sure you keep on top of getting games set up and let me know if you are having trouble.  Make sure you get in contact with your week 9 opponent asap and good luck to all!

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.

A new game update is available dated 8/17, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Denver can’t pick up their first win as Buffalo stays in the playoff race and Chicago pounds on New England and continues to lose players to injury.  The Jets stay perfect at 8-0 and Houston drops another one to fall back even with Buffalo while San Diego loses a tight one to the Seahawks.  Cleveland gets their second win as Dallas stumbles out West to keep San Francisco in the hunt despite their loss to the Steelers.  Indianapolis stays alive with a win over Tennessee and Minnesota gets the upset of the year as they stop the Rams winning streak at 7 games.

Week 9 has Dallas hosting a surprisingly hot Vikings squad and the Jets head to Denver hoping to leave with both teams still perfect on the season.  Buffalo plays in Carolina and Houston hosts Philadephia as both teams hope to gain ground on the Jets.  New England hopes to get their first win with a big upset of their own over Detroit and Chicago will try and catch the Steelers as they host Jacksonville.  Tennessee and San Diego fight to stay out of the basement in the West and Pittsburgh looks to avoid the Cleveland upset this week.  Houston plays the Eagles looking for win #6 and Indianapolis will try and do the same against the Giants.  San Francisco heads to Kansas City, hoping to catch the Cowboys if they should stumble.

In the NFC, the Giants squeak by the Jags to stay tied for the final playoff slot and New Orleans wins a big division game over Arizona for a 3 game lead.  Carolina wins to try and get back into the playoffs at the Packers expense and Seattle does the same in the East with a win over the Chargers.  St. Louis drops their first game of the season to the Vikings and Kansas City gets win #5 over Miami.  Tampa Bay gets to .550, beating the Eagles and Detroit stays in the fight for home field with a win over Atlanta.

In week 9, Carolina hosts Buffalo, needing a big winning streak to get in the playoff hunt and New Orleans will try and give Miami loss #8.  Detroit will try and stay on top of the East and Jacksonville tries to keep their fleeting playoff hopes on life support as they host Chicago.  Philly does the same in Houston and Green Bay and Atlanta look to stay in the mix as well with the loser looking to be running out of chances.  St. Louis will try and start another winning streak, but Seattle wants to catch the Lions and will be a tough out for them.  The Giants need a win to get over .500 and Arizona and Tampa both look to do the same with the other dropping back in the West race.  Kansas City hopes the Rams stumble and will try and beat the 49ers to cut the lead again.
