I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 7 is complete, please be sure you keep on top of getting games set up and let me know if you are having trouble.  Make sure you get in contact with your week 8 opponent asap and good luck to all!

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving as my time is short until the end of my kids football season.

A new game update is available dated 8/17, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Indianpolis gets back on the winning track as they send New England to 0-7.  Tennessee shuts down the Chargers and Pittsburgh hangs on to get a tight win against a feisty Denver club.  Houston makes the big comeback to beat Buffalo while the NY Jets keep rolling with a win over the Saints.  Minnesota gets a win to slow down the 49ers and Atlanta squeaks one out over the Bears to leave the Steelers along on top of the Central.  Cleveland loses another one to visiting Arizona and Dallas drops a tough one on a bad field to the Chiefs, keeping the division race tight.

Week 8 has Denver still looking for win #1 as they head to Buffalo and New England does the same on the road at Chicago.  Houston and the Jets meet up for a huge East division matchup if the Texans hold any hopes of winning the division and San Diego hosts Seattle, hoping for win #3.  Dallas heads to Cleveland as they try to stay on top in the West and Minnesota will try and stop the juggernaut that is the Rams, though it will be a tough task on the road.  Pittsburgh looks to extend their lead in the Central as they travel to San Francisco who tries to keep pace with Dallas and Indianpolis and Tennessee play a huge early season game that could see one of them totally out of the playoff picture.

In the NFC, St. Louis crushes the Giants as Peyton Manning has his worst day as a pro and Philadelphia gets two INTs for TDs from their middle linebacker to get by a tough Carolina team.  New Orleans gets their first loss as they run into the champs and can’t get it done, while Green Bay gets a big win in the Bay of Pigs game with the Bucs.  Seattle beats Miami with Palmer tossing 3 TDs and Detroit continues to roll in the East as they beat the Jags.  Atlanta gets a win to keep their playoff hopes alive for another week and Arizona moves up in the West with a win over Cleveland.  Kansas City gets a big win in a sloppy game over the Cowboys to keep pace with the others at 4-3.

In week 8, Jacksonville and the Giants meet for a big East division game as both try and keep wild card hopes alive and New Orleans and Arizona meet for a huge game in the West with the Cards needing it to stay alive for a division title.  Green Bay will try and keep the Rams in sight as they face the Panthers and Seattle looks for win #5 as they head to San Diego.  St. Louis looks to finish the first half of the season perfect as the Vikings come to town and Kansas City tries to keep their hopes alive as they head south to Miami.  Philly and Tampa Bay play a big one out West as everyone is still alive for wildcard spots and Detroit looks to extend their lead and hurt the Falcons chances in the East.
