I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 6 is complete, please be sure you keep on top of getting games set up and let me know if you are having trouble.  Make sure you get in contact with your week 7 opponent asap and good luck to all!

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving as my time is short until the end of my kids football season.

A new game update is available dated 8/17, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Cleveland gets their first win while Denver stays as one of three teams looking for their first win.  Buffalo loses a tough one to New Orleans at home and Tennessee gets win #2 over winless Minnesota.  San Diego also gets their second win as they leave the Patriots also looking for their first victory while the Jets continue to roll as they beat the visiting Panthers.  Chicago wins a big Central battle over Indianapolis to keep pace with Pittsburgh who comes from behind late to beat the game Jaguars.  San Francisco beats Miami in a game with a bunch of offense and Dallas gets a big win in the game of the week over Houston.

Week 7 has New England still looking for their first win as they host the Colts who are trying to keep touch with the top of the division.  Pittsburgh heads to Denver who also looks for win #1 and Chicago hosts Atlanta as they try and stay tied up top with the Steelers.  Tennessee and San Diego meet for a game that might end the season for the loser and Houston and Buffalo meet in a game that could decide who still has a chance to catch the Jets in the East.  Speaking of the Jets, they face off with the New Orleans Saints in the game of the week as one 6-0 team will get their first loss.  Dallas hosts Kansas City in hopes of keeping their lead out West and Minnesota will try to break the donut as they host San Francisco.  Cleveland  hosts Arizona needing a win to try and turn things around as the AFC already seems to be breaking down into haves and have nots very early in the season.

In the NFC, Kansas City continues the Eagles misery as they win to go to 3-3 and New Orleans stays unbeaten with a win over Buffalo.  Arizona gets 3 INTs of Manning from linebacker Thomas Davis to beat the Giants and St. Louis continues to dominate the central with a big win over the Packers.  Carolina struggles in NY (can they turn it around like last year and run the table again?) while Seattle pulls out the big win over Tampa Bay who started hot but have since cooled quite a bit.  Detroit gets a two game lead in the east as they beat Atlanta and Miami loses a tough one at home to the 49ers.  Jacksonville leads much of the way, but loses late to the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

In week 7, New Orleans starts us off and we’ll found out if they are for real as they face the powerful NY Jets on their own field.  St. Louis also looks to stay perfect as they travel to the other NY team where Peyton Manning needs to find a way to throw to his own receivers and get his club back in the playoff hunt.  Philadelphia and Carolina meet in a matchup of playoff teams from last year with the losers season likely done before the half way point.  Green Bay and Tampa Bay look to both move over .500 and get back into the playoff race and Seattle looks for the same as they host the big offense of Miami.  Kansas City faces off with Dallas, looking to take the Cowboys down a notch and Jacksonville will try and slow down the Detroit Lions who threaten to run away with the East.  Atlanta needs a win to keep any playoff hopes alive and Arizona is part of the 6 teams tied at 3-3 looking to make their mark and show they are true playoff contenders this year.
