I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 5 is complete, please be sure you keep on top of getting games set up and let me know if you are having trouble.  Make sure you get in contact with your week 6 opponent asap and good luck to all!

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving as my time is short until the end of my kids football season.

A new game update is available dated 8/17, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Buffalo gets win number 4 as the Broncos continue to search for their first and New England loses a tough one to the NFC Giants.  Pittsburgh’s defense and the refs shut out the Bears and San Francisco beats division rival San Diego.  Houston shuts out Cleveland to stay even with Buffalo and a game behind the Jets who beat the Eagles.  Dallas stays on top out West, sending the Titans to yet another defeat and Indianapolis loses a close one in Detroit.  Minnesota just misses their first win of the season as they give Miami theirs instead.

Week 6 Cleveland and Denver meet and one of them will get their first win of the season while the futility will continue for the other.
Buffalo hosts New Orleans in a big game for both clubs and Minnesota and Tennessee look to turn around their respective seasons.  New England and San Diego meet in another game of cellar dwellers and the Jets try to keep their perfect record agains the visiting Panthers.  Chicago and Indy meet in a big Central division game while Pittsburgh hosts the Jags in a game that they need to not overlook.  San Francisco heads to Miami as they try and keep pace with Dallas who host Houston in what may well be the game of the week.

In the NFC, The Giants keep pace with the Lions, who beat the visiting Colts.
St. Louis goes to 5-0 over the Jags and New Orleans does the same with a win over division rival Tampa.  Arizona gets win #2 over Carolina and Seattle does the same against Green Bay.  Miami gets their first win of the season over Minnesota and Atlanta squeaks by Kansas City.  Philly can’t get it done against the visiting Jets.

In week 6, Philly and KC meet and try to get their season back on track while New Orleans looks to get win #6 when they visit the Bills.  The Giants look to try and catch the Lions in the East as they head to Arizona and St. Louis looks to keep pace with the Saints as they head to Green Bay.  Carolina faces a tough task vs the Jets and Seattle hosts Tampa.  Detroit will try for five against Atlanta and Miami looks for their second consecutive win while Jacksonville tries to slow down the Steelers momentum.
