MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Week
1 is over and we are off and flying with all games in two days early!
Keep up the good work with the game contacts so I know what’s
going on and good luck to all in week 2!
A new
game update is available dated 8/17, please get it from the ISFL website
before you play any games this week.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with (this obviously doesn’t apply to anyone who won’t
be playing in the playoffs).
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In
the AFC, the New York Jets have made it known early they will take no
prisoners in their quest for a second straight Super Bowl title as they
throttle the Indianapolis Colts in what was billed as the game of the
week to start the season.
Houston wins a big divisional game over Buffalo, while Cleveland loses
badly to an improved Chicago squad.
Denver loses in their matchup of last place teams as the Chargers
come out of the gate quickly, equaling their win total of last season in
week 1. Pittsburgh starts
off much better than last year with a week 1 win over Atlanta and out
West Tennessee beats New England while San Francisco keeps pace with a
win over division rival Minnesota.
Week
2 has some good matchups in the AFC, starting with a divisional matchup
between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis and continuing with a bit cross
conference game between Tennessee and St. Louis.
New England heads to Buffalo and Chicago to San Diego to round
out the Centrals matchups.
Houston will look to get win #2 against San Francisco while NY Jets look
to do the same with divisional rival Cleveland who look to avoid an 0-2
start. Dallas heads to
Minnesota with both looking for win #1, while Denver hosts the Bucs to
round out the conference schedule.
In
the NFC, the NY Giants beat division rival Jacksonville in a close one,
while Seattle does the same thing to Detroit in another East division
battle. Atlanta drops their
first to Pittsburgh in a defensive battle, while Green Bay beats
division rival Kansas City and St. Louis wins a tough one versus the
Dallas Cowboys. Arizona
beats Miami, Tampa Bay gets an early win over Carolina and New Orleans
beats perennial division power Philadelphia to all go out on top of the
division early.
In
week 2, St. Louis will look to show they are still near the top, even
with a new coaching staff, as they face off against another AFC West
power in Tennessee who should give them a tough battle. Arizona and New
Orleans look to both take an early lead in the NFC West, while Tampa Bay
will try and keep pace against Denver.
The Giants look for win #2 at Miami, while Seattle gets another
division rival in Jacksonville as they try and show week 1 was no fluke.
Green Bay and Philadelphia will battle hard as the Eagles try and
avoid an 0-2 start while the Pack try and keep pace with the Rams.
Atlanta and Carolina round out the week in the NFC as both try
and avoid dropping 2 games back in their respective divisions.
