I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

The regular season is complete, congratulations to those who are in the playoffs and good luck in the offseason to those who aren’t  Keep in mind, we will be taking a break for the holidays, I will get out playoff files as I have time so if you want to play, you can, but I will likely be playing mine after the 1st of the year due to family in town.

At this time, I would like to start everyone thinking about any possible ballot proposals to vote on in the next few weeks.  I will also be looking for some awards nominations as well, but won’t likely get those ready to go until after Christmas at least.

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.

A new game update is available dated 12/14, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Houston beats Cleveland and earns the #4 seed and a home playoff game as the Steelers lay an egg against Detroit and end up heading to Houston for a rematch of an earlier game.  Denver wins their final game of the season to get to 4 wins and Chicago wins their 10th game of the season over the Patriots, but miss the playoffs in the end.  The Jets complete the the perfect season with a win over Arizona while Buffalo beats Indianapolis to earn the 6th seed and another shot at the Colts in round 1.  Dallas gets the win over the 49ers and earn a bye in round 1 and the Chargers drop their final game against Tampa Bay.  Tennessee wins a wild one over Minnesota as both teams finish off their season.

AFC Wildcard round has Pittsburgh going back to Houston for another shot at the Texans after a week 10 loss where Houston just ran over the Steelers to end a pretty good start to the season for the club and give them their second loss at the time.
Buffalo is going to Indianapolis again this week and will have to beat them again to advance, though that only earns them a meeting with the Jets who join Dallas on the bye in round 1.

In the NFC, Philadelphia finishes the season with a win and finish in a 3 way tie for the 3
rd lottery slot and Kansas City shuts out Miami to lock themselves into the 4th slot and a home game in round 1.  Seattle drops their final game to end up just below .500 and New Orleans finishes in the top conference spot with a close win over the Jaguars.  The Giants win a wild one against the Falcons and earn themselves a playoff spot after Arizona drops their final game to the rolling Jets.  St. Louis finishes with 13 wins as they beat the Packers who make the playoffs and get a rematch with those same Rams coming up.  Detroit crushes a slumping Steelers team to earn a bye and Tampa Bay wins their final game for 7 wins on the season.

NFC Wildcard round has the Green Bay Packers heading to St. Louis for the second straight week to try and knock the Rams off and earn a shot at the Saints in round 2 who get the bye and the top spot in the conference.
NY Giants win their final game to not only make the playoffs but end up in the #5 seed and they travel to Kansas City for a round 1 matchup while Detroit gets the other bye and will get a week of rest before joining the playoff party.
