I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 16 is complete and the playoff races are in full swing (see below).  Make sure you get in contact with your week 17 opponent and good luck to all!  Keep in mind, we will be taking a break for the holidays, I will get out playoff files as I have time so if you want to play, you can, but I will likely be playing mine after the 1st of the year due to family in town.

I can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and forget to send me an export.  It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it to me.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.

A new game update is available dated 12/9, please get it from the ISFL website before you play any games this week.

Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with.

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC, Tennessee beats San Francisco in a divisional battle and Denver gets their third win at the Chargers expense as Josh Freeman earns Offensive player of the week honors.  Houston beats Carolina and keeps alive hopes for a home playoff game and Buffalo beats Arizona to keep pace.  The Jets make it 15 in a row and look for the perfect season while Dallas squeaks by Chicago and still hope for a bye in round 1.  Minnesota drops a tough one to Green Bay and New England loses another one, this time to Atlanta who still look for a .500 season.  Indianapolis wins the Central again as they beat the Steelers with Lindell missing the late FG to cost his club the win.

Week 17 has Houston looks to beat Cleveland and hope for a Steelers loss to clinch the #4 seed and Denver looks for win #4 over Seattle.  Chicago needs a win and some help to make the playoffs as they face New England and the Jets try for the perfect season with the Cardinals coming to visit.  Pittsburgh must win a tough game (haven’t done that much this year) over Detroit to clinch the #4 seed, otherwise could drop all the way to #6 and Buffalo needs to beat Indianapolis if they want to be in the playoffs.  Dallas will try to beat San Francisco and with some help can still get a bye while San Diego tries to get a win over Tampa and Tennessee and Minnesota face off in the West.

In the NFC, Detroit beats the Giants in a tight, low scoring game and New Orleans stays on top out West with a win over Philly.  St. Louis wins the Central with a head to head win over Kansas City and Carolina drops another one at home to Houston.  Arizona loses a tough one and their playoff hopes hang by a thread while Green Bay wins and solidifies their playoff positioning.  Tampa Bay wins the battle of Florida over Miami and Jacksonville finishes off Seattle’s playoff hopes for this season.  Atlanta gets a big win and looks for a .500 season.

In week 17, Philly and Carolina facing off and Kansas City looking to clinch the #4 playoff slot vs Miami.  Seattle looks for .500 with a win over Denver and New Orleans will try and beat Jacksonville and clinch home field throughout.  The Giants need to beat Atlanta and get an Arizona loss to clinch a playoff slot and Arizona needs a win and they are in as they hold the tiebreaker.  Green Bay needs the win to be sure they are in the playoffs and possible get a home game while the Rams may be resting some players as they are set as the #3 seed.  Detroit will try for the top spot with a win over Pittsburgh and some help while Tampa Bay will look for one more win over the visiting Chargers.
