MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Week
13 is complete and week 14 is a bye week, everyone enjoy the holiday and
we’ll pick things up again next week.
If you want to play this week, the files are available, but there
is no pressure, if you are busy and want to wait, that is fine too.
Please be sure you keep on top of getting games set up and let me know
if you are having trouble.
Make sure you get in contact with your week 15 opponent and good luck to
all!
I
can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export
when the game is complete.
This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and
forget to send me an export.
It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it
to me. Send your write up
later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the
game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.
A new
game update is available dated 10/28, please get it from the ISFL
website before you play any games this week.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In
the AFC, the Steelers stumble again against a good team as Peyton
Manning rips them apart and the Jets stay perfect as they beat the
division rival Bills. The
Patriots just come up short against the Jaguars and Houston gets a big
win over Denver to move into the final playoff slot.
Dallas clinches the West with a win over Tennessee and
Indianapolis moves into a tie with the Steelers with a win over Chicago.
San Diego beats the Vikings for a tie at the bottom of the west
and Cleveland beats San Francisco for their 4th win of the
season.
*******************
With
only 3 games left and the results in for week 13 we made a call to Mr.
Playoffs on who would be in the playoffs if the season would end today.
In the
AFC the New York Jets stay perfect (13-0) for the #1 seed with a perfect
13-0 record winning the east. But did they clinch home field
throughout? The answer is yes as the only 2 teams that could tie
are Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. The Jets beat Indy during the
season but did not play the Steelers. Looking at conference
records the Jets and Steelers would be tied. The Jets would hold a
better record (5-2 to 4-2) against common opponents. The AFC playoffs
must go through the Jets. Indianapolis is atop the AFC Central with a
10-3 record and beating out 10-3 Pittsburgh in the head to head tie
breaker with a 21-14 victory in week 2. Dallas wins the AFC West
title this year. They are currently the #3 seed. The wild
card teams begin with 10-3 Pittsburgh as the #4 seed. A tie between
Chicago and Houston, with 9-4 records, determine the final 2 seeds.
Houston's 38-24 week 12 head to head victory over Chicago gives them the
tie breaker. Houston is the #5 seed and Chicago is the #6 seed.
Buffalo is one game out of the playoffs with a 8-5 record.
In
the first round AFC playoff weekend would have 9-4 Dallas hosting 9-4
Chicago and 10-3 Pittsburgh hosting 9-4 Houston. New York and
Indianapolis would get the byes.
In the
NFC the New Orleans Saints stay on top and are the #1 seed with an 12-1
record winning the NFC West this year. 11-2 Detroit wins the NFC
East and stay the #2 seed at the moment but are right on the Saints
heals. 10-3 St Louis wins the NFC Central for the #3 seed.
The wild card has Kansas City with
their 9-4 record getting the #4 seed. Arizona and Green Bay
are tied at 8-5 for the final 2 spots. They did not play during
the season so we go to conference records. Arizona has a 7-4
conference record compared to Green Bay's 6-5 conference record.
Arizona is the 5th seed and Green Bay is the 6th seed. The New
York Giants and Seattle Seahawks are one game out with 7-6 records.
The first round of the NFC playoffs has 10-3 St Louis hosting
8-5 Green Bay and 9-4 Kansas City hosting 8-5 Arizona. New Orleans and
Detroit would get the byes.
Some changes in seeding from last week. Mr. Playoffs
wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
