MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Week
12 is complete, please be sure you keep on top of getting games set up
and let me know if you are having trouble.
Make sure you get in contact with your week 13 opponent asap and
good luck to all!
I
can’t stress enough that need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export
when the game is complete.
This is the second straight week that a host had something come up and
forget to send me an export.
It takes about 30 seconds following your game to export it and send it
to me. Send your write up
later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the
game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things.
A new
game update is available dated 10/28, please get it from the ISFL
website before you play any games this week.
Don’t
forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an
injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so
don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage,
especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games
they have to work with.
Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after
each game. The home team is
responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get
done. Also, you MUST send me
the game export immediately after the game is complete.
It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down
for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to
guess whether a game has happened or not.

News from Around the League
In
the AFC, Buffalo stays tied for the final playoff slot with a win over
Philadelphia while Cleveland drops another one to the Saints.
Houston beats up on Chicago and Tennessee keeps up with Dallas
with a win over Miami. The
Steelers stay on top of the Central while Dallas does the same on top of
the West. Jets continue
their dominance, going to 12-0 over Denver and Indianpolis beats the
Vikings to keep pace with Chicago and Pittsburgh in the Central.
San Francisco gets shut out by the Packers.
In
week 13, New Orleans looks to stay on top of the NFC and St. Louis plays
Miami as they try and hold on in the Central.
The Giants host the STteelers as they try and stay in touch with
the wild card race and Jacksonville heads to New England, trying to stay
out of the basement for the entire league.
Arizona plays Tampa Bay as they try and solidfy their playoff
spot and Green Bay and Kansas City play a game that will decide who
still has a shot to catch the Rams in the Central.
Seattle hosts Atlanta as they try and get into the final playoff
slot and Detroit heads to Philadelphia as they try and clinch the East.
Jacksonville, Miami and Philly are out at this point, while one
loss will send Atlanta, Carolina and Tampa Bay to the links as well.
*******************
Talking with Mr. Playoffs on
who would be in the playoffs if the season would end after week 12 we
try to get the answers.
In the AFC the New York Jets
get the #1 seed with a perfect 12-0 record winning the east. 10-2
Pittsburgh claims the #2 seed winning the central. 8-4 Dallas wins
the west for the #3 seed. The wild card teams begin with a tie
between Chicago and Indianapolis with 9-3 records. Chicago beat
Indianapolis 30 to 14 in week 6 so they win the head to head tie breaker
and get the #4 seed. 9-3 Indianapolis is the #5 seed.
Houston and Buffalo are tied at 7-4 but Houston wins the head to head
by sweeping Buffalo 29-20 in week 1 and 31-24 in week 7.
In the first round AFC
playoff weekend would have 8-4 Dallas hosting 8-4 Houston and 9-3
Chicago hosting 9-3 Indianapolis. New York and Pittsburgh would
get the byes.
In the NFC the New Orleans
Saints are the #1 seed with an 11-1 record winning the west. 10-2
Detroit is right behind winning the east and is the #2 seed. St
Louis wins the central at 9-3 to get the #3 seed.
The wild card has 3 teams tied at 8-4. (Green Bay, Kansas
City and Arizona)
The
first step is to apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the
highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2.
The original seeding within a division upon application of the division
tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the
procedure that are necessary to identify the two (Three in the ISFL)
Wild-Card participants. Green Bay wins the NFC central wild card tie
breaker head to head with their 31-21 week 1 victory over Kansas City.
Now we go to the remaining 2 tied wild card teams. Arizona and
Green Bay did not play during the year. We go to the #2 tie
breaker and Arizona has a 7-3 conference record compared to for Green
Bay's 6-4 conference record. So Arizona gets the #4 seed by
conference winning percentage and Green Bay is the #5 seed. Kansas
City is the #6 seed.
So the
first round of the NFC playoffs has 9-3 St Louis hosting 8-4 Kansas City
and 8-4 Arizona hosting 8-4 Green Bay. New Orleans and Detroit would
get the byes.
All this
can change each week when we talk with Mr. Playoffs.
