MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER Week 1 went off pretty well without a hitch, let’s see if we can keep things going for week 2. As usual, games contacts need to be made on Tuesday (home team) and Wednesday (visiting team) so I have an idea when all games are going to be played by Thursday. Don’t forget, if you lose a player for 2 or more games, you can ask for an injury replacement, but it must be done the same week as the injury, so don’t wait, get those requests in right away and take advantage, especially the teams who are already challenged for the amount of games they have to work with. Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game. The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done. Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete. It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not. Other that this stuff, just keep up the good work and good luck to all for week 2! II. News from Around the League In the AFC, nothing really unexpected going on as the game of the week never really turned into a great game as the Steelers try and hang around, but in the end the Jets superior talent won out and they win going away. Houston wins big to start their season and Indy and Chicago take advantage of the Steelers’ tough start to get a jump in the division. Out West, Tennessee wins early and the Vikings get on the board in week 1 as their offense has a big game to carry them. Dallas In week 2, Dallas hosts St. Louis in the biggest game of the week, while elsewhere in the AFC the Steelers look to get things going against division rival Indy, Chicago tries to slow down that high powered Vikings offense and the young Titans will try their hand against the Texans who look for a shot at their first AFC title this year. In the NFC, no real surprises either as Jax, Detroit, St. Louis and Philly win as usual to start off their seasons. New Orleans gets a big week 1 win and Green Bay and Arizona win early to try and work their way towards a playoff spot for their first time in a while. The Giants, under new management, give the Jags all they can handle and show they won’t be happy missing the playoffs again and Carolina played those Saints tough in hopes of a possible wild card spot later on in the season. In week 2, those Rams travel to Dallas while the Eagles and Panther renew their rivalry in the NFC West. Green Bay and New Orleans should be a tight game, while the Giants and Seahawks look to end their respective losing streaks at 1 game and get right back to .500. Arizona looks to go 2-0 against an undermanned Browns team, while Atlanta and Tampa Bay also look for win #1 and won of them is probably gonna get it this week. III.
