I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Congratulations to the Super Bowl Champion Detroit Lions and Dave Stewart who put together a great team and called a superb game to keep
the Steelers from getting that one play they needed to get a leg up in the game. Nice to see another expansion team built up into a winner,
it shows what work can be done by a great owner who is willing to put in the effort to get things done.
Thank you all for another great season, this was one of my easiest ever to run the league and Im pretty happy with how things went this
year. We need one more owner, but have two months to put one in place (any names would be great, looking for someone willing to rebuild
Denver), so we should be full up by April 1st and ready to go. Hope everyone enjoys some time off, well be back to it soon enough, but
the break will give us all some time for other stuff which I know we all can use.
KR/PR Overuse we had 4 teams overuse KR/PR despite our making it easier than ever to cover them. At this point, I dont know what else
I can do other than just keep taking picks and penalizing the teams who arent following the rules. The teams in question will be
contacted and penalties imposed shortly.
With three new owners, we have a couple of supplemental picks to award. San Diego is given a #1 pick at the end of round 1 to replace the
one they are missing, while Denver is given a #2 pick at the end of round 2 to replace that missing pick as well. NY Giants were not
missing any picks.
Remember, trading wont open up until April 1st, so everyone will get some time off and then time to digest the ratings which hopefully
will again be our in mid March this year (if not, well open trading 2 weeks following the ratings being released).
Week in Review
The Super Bowl was one heck of a game, thanks to Dave for a great game, unfortunately the Steelers never could break off the one big play
they needed and the Lions got the job done when it was needed to take home Super Bowl XII to Detroit. Congratulations!
The Super Bowl XII Offensive MVP was Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben had a great day, hitting 20 of 27 for 259 yards and a TD pass late
that sealed the game when the Steelers still had hopes of making a comeback.
The Defensive MVP from the Super Bowl actually goes to the losing team as Aaron Kampman was a monster all day long, giving Big Ben and
young OT Tony Ugoh fits with 1 sack, 2 hurries, 5 tackles and forcing Ugoh into 3 holding penalties in the contest, keeping his team in
the game right to the end.
