I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

The wildcard round went smoothly for the most part, thanks to all of you for bearing with me while I was working through stuff. We should be
full speed ahead the rest of the way and have our Super Bowl the week before the real one. Good luck to all!

League award ballots are due on Sunday, January 18th at midnight.

http://www.blades99.com/ISFL/AwardsBallot0809.htm

Constitutional props can be put out at any point now to the list for discussion. Not necessary that we change anything, but if you have an
idea of how we can make things better or see something you don’t think works quite right, that’s what we’ll talk about, look for an email on
that shortly as well. Remember to please only put out fully formed ideas to the group and we’ll close the discussion on Sunday, January 18th
at midnight and a ballot will be put out for the league on Monday.

Round 2 of the playoffs are due on Monday, January 19th at 9 pm eastern, so please set up your games asap. We’ll start round 3 early if
everyone gets done, but I would really like to stick to the deadlines at the very least, so let’s get in contact and set up your games right
away.

Week in Review

Four big games in the wild card round with the home team holding serve in every one to varying degrees of difficulty. The closest game was
won by Detroit as Roethlisberger throws for 4 TDs and the Lions hold on for a 7 point win in probably the most exciting game of round 1. San
Diego did what they could to stick with the tough Texans, but Houston allowed no TDs and just 3 FGs in the game and Collins was just good
enough to get them the win, 21-9. Jacksonville wins the rubber match with Atlanta, shutting out the Falcons and LT was the big star, running
for 131 yards (more than Favre passed for) and leading his club to a 19-0 win. Finally, the weirdest game was in Pittsburgh as two high
powered offenses were pretty well shut down all day and the defenses came up big to give the home team an easy win where one wasn’t expected.
Gary Brackett lead the way with 3 interceptions for 150 yards and a touchdown, while setting up 2 others and giving the offense a short field
all day long.

The matchups only get better in round 2, as we have Houston and NY Jets meeting in their rubber match to decide who is the best in the AFC
East for this season. Pittsburgh heads to Dallas as the Steelers pass rush will try and get to Brady, while the offense will hope to score
just enough to squeak out a rare playoff road win for the Steelers. In the NFC, Detroit and Philadelphia met for the second time in 3 weeks
with the Eagles looking for some revenge over the Lions who cost them home field throughout. Finally the Jaguars will look to slow down the
Rams who have just a single loss on the year and are looking for their second Super Bowl in three years. All four games should be extremely
close and very good matchups.

The Offensive Player of the Week is Ben Roethlisberger who led the Lions to a 37-30 win over the Saints. Big Ben completed 24 of 35 passes for
307 yards and 4 TDs including the game winning score to Gates in the final 4 minutes.

Gary Brackett intercepted Indy’s QBs three times for 150 yards worth of returns and one touchdown, leading the way for the Steelers first
round win and that makes him the Defensive Player of the Week.

II. News from Around the League

Playoff Matchups – Round 2 (thanks to Jeff Shelton!)

AFC

Houston @ New York Jets

This is the rubber match Jets won a week 3 games 20-14,Houston then returns the favor with a 30-6 win in week 14 .

QB – Jets - Garcia's 25 tds-2ints give him the slight edge, Collins has a tendency to put the ball on the ground 9 fumbles in 124 pass
attempts.

RB – Jets - Fred Taylors 5.4 ypc versus Fast Willie's 3.4 ypc gives the Jets a real advantage .

WR/TE – Texans - Get a small edge here Roddy White's numbers are awesome 19.0 ypc and 15 td's

OL – Jets - With Taylors big advantage in ypc the advantage in the O-Line should provide big results

DL – Texans - DL is very big and aggressive the game could really come down to the Texans D-Line versus Jets O-Line

LB Jets - slight Edge Peterson -Harrison are huge pass rushers but Jets don’t blitz much. If Merriman goes wild and roughs up Garcia the
game could turn.

DB – Even - Jets Woodson must come up big against Roddy White .

ST - Jets - Leon Washington "special" kickoff skills really could turn this game .

This one comes down to the wire

Jets 20-Texans 16

Pittsburgh @ Dallas

QB – Dallas - Brady numbers were down versus his "real" numbers but his career year is awesome

RB - Dallas - Portis has over 1,400 yards this ISFL season

WR/TE - Dallas Johnson -Holmes gives Dan the edge

OL – Even - neither teams has a real advantage here

DL – Pitt - Kampman 11 sacks leads both teams D-line

LB – Pitt - The ratings say Dallas but the stats say Pitt Kawika Mitchell had 3 "real" sacks but has 19 in the ISFL

DB - Pitt - Dallas has the monster in Ed Reed but Pitts overall depth gives him the edge.

ST – Pitt - McGee -Parrish both could change the game .

Dallas 28-Pitt 24 - Brady's advantage gives Dan the win

NFC

Jacksonville @ St.Louis

A rematch of a week 3 battle won by the Rams in OT.

QB – Rams - Can Jay Cutler continue to play so far ahead of his "Real" stats almost 30 points higher Qb rating if he comes down to earth
only game he came down to earth was in week 4 verus the Steelers the Rams only lose.

RB – Jags - LT's overall game running and catching gives Jags the edge.

WR/TE – Rams - The combo of TO/Gonzo gives the Rams a slight edge the Jags combo of Smith /Cooley is very good it's self.

OL – Jags - again not a big advantage here. But the Jags 2-10's swing it slightly.

DL - Even - Both teams have big time studs here .

LB – Jags - have a big advantage here Rams best rated LB is a 6, all the Jags LB's are rated higher and Ware is a difference maker.

DB – Rams - big advantage here few teams can matchup with the monsters the Rams have in their secondary .Sanders has the ability to take
Cooley out of the game, and Barber -Bailey on Smith is advantage to the Rams .

ST – Jags - slight advanage with Sproles returning kicks.

Rams DB's pick off at least 1 Favre pass and that is the difference in this close game.

Rams 30- Jags 21

Detroit @ Philly

QB – DET - Big Ben stats and game is a lot better in action than a very average Jason Campbell

RB - DET - Again clear advantage for the Lions

WR/TE – DET - No team in the ISFL has the passing weapons the Lions have.

OL - DET - slight edge here only problem is Big Ben holds ball too long and will take a sack.

DL – PHI - on paper they look even but having played against both teams twice Eagles line scares me more than Lions.

LB – Even - both teams have playmakers here Lions Fletcher, Eagles Bulluck.

DB – PHI - other than the Rams no other team can match the depth of the Eagles DB's from the 1st guy to the dime guy .

ST – Even - both teams have some play makers in the return game .

Detroit won a week 17 showdown versus a highly fatigued Eagles teams. Will that have any effect on this game.

Jeff has done more with less offensive weapons than anyone in the league. Can his defense man-up 1 more time and send them to the
NFC Title game?

Detroit 28 - Philly 17

Good luck to all the playoff teams
