I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Week 14 is a bye week. While I have put out the new files and they are ready to play week 15 games, no one is required to play this week,
you can take the time off or you can get the game done early and then take next week off. We’ll come back after the holiday and have a big
push to the playoffs in the final 3 weeks. Playoffs will start after Christmas, though I will try and get out files before I go away on the
26th and I won’t be back until the 4th.

Please make sure you are sending me the .xbx file right after your games so I don’t have to wonder if they got played on time or not. Just
a reminder, watch your usage on your KR and PR if they are not unlimited.

Week in Review/Preview

The Steelers make the big move in the AFC this week with a huge defensive effort win over the Colts to clinch the Central division and pull
even with the Jet and Cowboys. The NY Jets looked human for the first time as the Texans put a whooping on them to cut the division lead to
one game while the Cowboys fall to Saints from the NFC. San Diego wins as well to pull closer to Dallas in the West. New England and
Tennessee lose, leaving them both on the playoff precipice and despite a win, the Bears have been eliminated from playoff contention due to
a pair of losses to the Colts and a poor division record. The top spot is up for grabs at this point, with the Jets (BUF, CHI, DEN), Steelers
(CHI, GB, SF) and Cowboys (SD, MIN, CHI) all having relatively easy schedules, though that Chargers matchup for Dallas could well spell
trouble for them if they stumble a second week in a row. Houston has an uphill battle for their division as they face JAX, DEN and CLE, with
the Jags game being a potential road block they must avoid as they have to win out and get some help. San Diego must beat Dallas this week
or be left in a fight for 5th place with Indy and they face CLE and CAR after that, so they have a small chance to catch the ‘boys but have a
huge hill to climb. Indy need only win one game to assure a playoff spot. Tennessee and New England play each other in week 15, so one of
them will be eliminated from the playoffs for sure. The winner must win out and hope the Colts lose out to have any chance at a tiebreaker
for the final playoff spot.

The Rams and Eagles continue to roll along in the NFC, each beating their competition this week. Jacksonville beats the Lions to pull even
at the top of the East, while Atlanta wins as well to make it a three-way tie with 3 games to play. The Saints pulled the huge upset over
the Cowboys to take a strangle hold on the final playoff spot with both the Packers and Buccaneers losing, leaving them 2 games behind NO
for the final playoff spot. KC, Miami, Seattle and Carolina are all mathematically alive at this point, but must win out and get tons of
help for any chance to catch the Saints. The NFC East is still a mess as DET currently holds the tiebreakers but a week 17 matchup with
Philadelphia will mean they will have to work for the #1 spot. Jacksonville sits in second with their tiebreakers but they also have a
tough game, this week, against the Texans and Atlanta has it no easier as they face the 1 loss Rams this week. One or both almost have to
pull an upset if they want to catch the Lions and make their game against the Eagles meaningful. St. Louis has Atlanta and Philly has Detroit
as the tough games on their schedule and it could come down to the common opponents tiebreaker for the top spot (or even deeper) and both can
clinch a bye with a win this week and losses by Jax and Detroit. New Orleans can clinch a playoff spot with a win this week over the Giants
and a GB loss to KC and TB loss to Arizona. TB holds the tiebreaker with the Saints (division record), so New Orleans will need to put them
away soon.

For the third straight week, the Offensive Player of the Week comes from the Seattle Seahawks, this time it’s Donte Stallworth with just 6
catches, but turning those into 162 yards and 4 TDs in a big Seahawks win.

Shawn Merriman has 3 sacks and 12 tackles to earn the Defensive Player of the Week as the Texans pull off the big upset over the NY Jets and
give themselves a chance to still win the division.

II. News from Around the League

Game of the Week

St. Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons

The Rams can put a big dent in the Falcons division title chances with a win, while Atlanta looks to give the Rams their second loss of
the season. Atlanta needs this win to keep pace with the Jags and Lions in the NFC East while the Rams want to keep the Eagles at bay for
the top spot in the conference.
